If you like disco, you'll like this. OK, I admit it, my HS and college years overlapped those now embarrassing silk shirts, leisure suits, and, yes, the age of disco. The shirts are gone as are the leisure suits, but there is a part of me that still likes some disco sounds now and again, and Kool and Gang did disco as well as anyone and better than most.If you are a true Kool and the Gang fan you will already own most if not all of the tracks on this album, so this is not for you. But, if you are like me, and Kool and the Gang was enjoyed but not a musical focus, but you enjoy having some on hand, then this is a great collection.As on many greatest hits albums the producers inserted some, well, IMO, not so greatest hits, but the ratio of hits with staying power to those that are lacking is good. For me 8 of the 11 tracks were readily recognizable and still appear occasionally on oldies stations. One of these tracks has gained recent renewed popularity because of its use in the movie "Wreck-It Ralph" where the track Celebration is featured. That's a fun movie and a fun song.My break even point in deciding whether to buy any album is whether the value is better buying the entire album or just buying the tracks that I'm most interested in. In this case, I jumped on it when I saw this album listed in as a recent $5 MP3 album. Eight great tracks for $5 was a great deal!Now these tracks appear regularly on my playlists.BTW, if you are a newcomer to Kool and the Gang, not only is their music enjoyable, but they are fun to watch. They performed back in the day when presentation was just as important as the music. I love their music videos. They often all wore white shoes, danced in unison, and they have a great horn line, rely on driving bass to keep things going, and the lead singer's voice is fantastic. They play danceable music and romantic ballads.5 stars for fans of disco, both old and new1 star for everyone else...but I'm at least a part time fan, so 5 STARS :-)

These guys seemed really sweet. I hear a lot of their songs played on 80S channel on Sirius and I remember listening as a kid to their heart felt tunes. The songs only bring back good feelings so I decided to purchase their CD. Arrived quick and many good songs!

Timely delivery and good to hear music from my youth

If you are looking for fun music in the car pop this in. Depending on your age, you will know all the words to the songs.

This was a cd I wanted for a longtime. Well worth the wait , and it was delivered fast too

This is an excellent collection. I bought it for "Celebration" and "Jungle Boogie", but "Ladies Night" is probably my current favorite. Kool and the Gang deserve more credit for taking creative chances. Many artists succeed with one formulaic and predictable feel and sound. Take a moment to appreciate how different each of these tracks is. I didn't care for the ballads, but I will admit that the quality level is really high, even if you don't want to go to that Lionel place. Ballads are for 1)girls 2) couples who want a slow dance and 3) proving to the critics that you have artistic depth and range.

They bring back memories of the many house parties I had the pleasure of attending.

Fantastic collection of Kool and the Gang hits, all my personal favourites. Very happy with this CD.
