Primos Hunting Bloodhunter HD Shadow Free Blood Tracking Light

I have tracked 4 whitetail bucks using this light. It is a game changer for an evening bow hunter. Most have been under 50 yards but the last was over 200 in the dark. I actually am more comfortable tracking in the dark then in light now. If you are a bowhunter this is a must have.

Got my first chance to try this light on Oct. 23, 2018. I got a good hit on a doe with a Spitfire broadhead and was eager to try this thing out. I hunt a lot in the evening, and after reading the positive reviews, I decided if it helped me to recover just one deer, it was worth the $50 bucks I gave for it. I will say that it does exactly what it claims. All colors that are in the “red/orange” area of the color spectrum somehow absorb the light this thing emits. Consequently, it does make these specific colors stand out more than with an ordinary light. I used it side by side with a standard LED light that evening and I must say I was impressed with its performance. It has two brightness settings, and I actually found the lower setting to be the better of the two. The light is a bit heavy, but IMO well worth carrying on those evening hunts. Now with this said, I did notice that the blood stood out better on certain backgrounds than it did on others. Also, I probably wouldn’t let this light fully replace your standard light for general use. I also cannot speak to its durability and battery conservation, as I’ve only used it the one time for like 30 minutes. I will say from now on it will be a utilized tool in my arsenal for evening deer hunts.

The color is great - it really does make the blood trail much more visible. Unfortunately, the on/off switch was crummy. Button wasn't great from the get-go, but completely stopped working at about 2 months - just beyond the return window. Going to be a tough call putting down this much money again. If you get this, shell out for the extended warranty option. UPdate: Color is amazing - really makes the blood trail far easier to spot. If you see reviews that say otherwise... well, some people are color blind. I had a problem with the button after 2 months and called customer service - super easy and they sent me a replacement without giving me a hard time. Turns out manufacturer warranty is 1 year. Best NOT to shell out any additional money for extended warranty.

I have heard numerous good things about this light for blood tracking, so I decided to get when to use this bow season. I tested the light itself on some blood I keep around for training dogs and it worked very well, and I feel confident it will make life easier in a hunting situation should the need arise. The one complaint I have is that it uses batteries you wouldn't normally see and the ones that came with the device expired a year before I even bought it. This being said they did work but once I went to the store and was able to find the correct batteries the Bloodhunter uses you could tell a noticeable difference between the expired batteries it came with and the new ones. For the money you would at least hope that it came with good batteries.

After several times struggling to follow a blood trail in the dark, decided to spend the money on a good blood tracking light. The flashlight was delivered late yesterday, and I hadn't even unboxed it yet, when my husband shot a hog in the dark and couldn't find blood. Totally forgetting the light, I went to help with our regular flashlights. At the site, I found one little pinprick of blood. I followed that for about 10ft before it dead ended. We tried for an hour to find where it continued, to no avail. That's when my husband recalled that the flashlight was delivered. We came back to the house, put the batteries in, and off we went. We arrived back at the spot and followed the same previous trail of pinpricks to where I'd lost the trail before. Lo and behold, this light picked up the next pinprick of blood that I'd looked for an hour for with the previous light. As I moved in that direction, the light was picking up these tiny pricks of blood among the red/brown leaves and pinestraw that I simply couldn't see with a regular light. Eventually, the pricks turned into better blood and we were able to track the hog... but we never would have found the trail that deep in the scrub brush without the ability to follow small bits of blood that this light gave us. It really makes the wet blood drops stand out among a sea of similar colors. While you still have to put in the work tracking, this light makes it so much easier to follow blood that is sparse and tiny. Well worth the cost. As to the blinking on/off that others refer to. Yes, I encountered that after 2 hours. It's letting you know the batteries are running low. Carry a back up set of batteries. The flashing is super disorienting for sure.

I bought for my husband for Christmas, as he is an avid hunter and he LOVED it. He had never heard of them before, (how I don’t know because he has alllll the things), but I can tell you he will never go deer hunting without it.

Got this for my boyfriend for Christmas. Then found out he had been cheating on me. At least he has something that will be a constant reminder of how awesome I was. Works great.

Some of the guys were trying to track a deer just at dark with a really bright LED light but couldn’t find a trail so they called me off my stand to try this light. As soon as I got on site I turned the light on and all 5 of us at the same time said “wooooow” instantly saw the blood trail and successfully made our way to the downed deer. Well worth the price!!

Primos Blood Tracker Light is built very sturdy & came with an excellent case. Top quality lithium CR123 batteries came with it. I like the ability to switch between high & low modes as CR123 Lithium batteries are not cheap and based on info supplied, they may only last 2 hrs on high, but 8 hrs on low. After spending 6.5 hrs after dark searching for a wounded animal, guaranteed this light will make that process so much easier.

This is great because my dad is colour blind and cannot see blood on a green leaf. Generally he is okay because I'm the one that usually shoots the deer as it is (glad he can't see this review). It helps illuminated the blood and has a bright beam unlike most other models which are useless in general.

Worked great. A friend injured a black bear and we were able to track it in the dark timber. I would recommend this product
