ASUS VK248H-CSM 24" Full HD 1920x1080 2ms HDMI 1.0M web cam (Fixed) Monitor

I am not a graphics nerd so I can't speak to this monitor as compared to other monitors but to me the price was right and the monitor looks fantastic. It has a nice shape and height and connections are in back facing down. You don't see wires while it is on the desk. the webcam is a nice feature as are the speakers. The speakers aren't great but it's nice to have them. I game with a head set on and use something else for music. It does not have a microphone which suprised me. I figured they would throw one in with the webcam. Nice and bright screen

I was excited about purchasing this for the on-board speakers and built-in webcam. The webcam has wonderful resolution with very little (if any) pixelation and no tearing or delay! I could finally vid-chat with everyone in real time!I was under the misunderstanding that a mic was included as well. Upon rereading the description, I discovered that a mic was not mentioned. That was my fault, but I thought people ought to know there is no mic with this particular monitor.The screen resolution is FANTASTIC!! I've never owned a monitor this big. It's amazing what you miss on CRTs and smaller screens. If you use your computer only for computing, I might suggest going with a smaller screen. This screen is AWESOME for gaming, however.The 4-star rating comes mainly from the speakers. They aren't very powerful. There is something in the software that has an auto-gate on the sound. This makes things sound clipped and cuts out higher and lower dB sounds. I finally resigned myself to plugging in the old speakers and by-passing the on-board speakers in this manner. I was a bit bummed the built-in speakers hadn't performed as expected as I had anticipated saving myself some desk space with this option.All in all, a really great product. I don't recommend buying it for the speakers or the nonexistent microphone. I do recommend buying it for the fabulous screen resolution and above-all-expectations webcam!

I had a 14" monitor before this one and it truly is like having a TV on my desk now. The clarity of the picture is very good even with my "old" computer. I now have to juggle my finances so I can purchase a new computer in the next year. Once I have that, I'll be able to use the HDMI and will really see the benefit of this monitor purchase.I was uncertain about the brand as I've never used it before. I talked to people I trust and was assured that this is a quality brand and that I could be confident purchasing it. I have seen no problems so far and I'm not expecting any in the future.It has everything I was looking for and the price was reasonable for all that this monitor includes.Thanks Amazon!

A built-in webcam with no microphone. The built-in speakers has very minimal sound in a whisper. This product is very frustrating. It is stupid to include a webcam without a microphone. That's just logical.Great picture quality and the webcam video quality is good but the speakers are awful and it has no mic. The monitor also doesn't adjust upwards. It's very low to the base.Since you still need an external mic with this monitor and you'll probably want external speakers you might as well just get a regular monitor and stick a USB webcam on top.

After spending hours using updated drivers, device manager refreshes, updating Window 10 and one hour chatting with a nice but not knowledgeable agent, who in the end told me the webcam is defective, I would be hesitant to recommend this product. All else is good quality, I will now see what the seller suggests and change my rating accordingly.

Here's the short of it. This is not a bad monitor for general purpose net surfing, image viewing, and video streaming. However, the product information on the product page suggested that the monitor featured a Displayport connection. This was the main reason why I purchased this particular model, else I would have saved myself $20 and purchased something else. It is also why I am giving this 3 stars only. I will keep the monitor because despite the misinformation, the webcam and speakers are nice to have.I hooked it up to my Samsung Chromebox, and the speakers and webcam were pretty much plug & play. The webcam itself is fairly average (tested with Google chat), but I wasn't expecting much since I will probably only use it a few times per year. The webcam image in my case was grainy and choppy, but I'm not sure if is a hardware or software limitation. The speakers as well are average, but good enough for watching a TV show or streaming Pandora. The highs and mids are pleasant but some of the bass rattled the monitor enclosure and sounded 'farty' for lack of a better term. I hardly have an audiophile setup here, so my expectations were met.Out of the box, I found the color to be washed out, but after a few minutes fiddling with the Brightness and contrast, I got the colors to an decent level. Being that this is not a pro grade monitor there aren't many options in terms of fine tuning the color adjustment. Their auto-adjusting color tech didn't do much for me personally. All the settings seemed either too bright or too dark for the intended purposes. Fortunately I don't see any dead pixels, but we'll see what happens after burn in.In summary, if you are looking for a decent monitor with the convenience of built in webcam/speakers for a decent price, this is probably a good buy. My disappointment over the lack of Displayport aside, most folks will be happy with offering of HDMI, DVI, and RGB connections.
