Older person needs to use it to safely get down from a high bed. Will it slide out from under her?

I am an older person and that is what I use it for. I have carpeting in my bedroom, and I have never had a problem. I don’t know how it works on hardwood floors.

10 inches. I really like it. It looks just like the picture shows.

Can longer legs be purchased, to make the stool 1” taller?

is there suppose to be a slit along the side?

I have no slits on any of the sides of mine. There is a zipper compartment in the bottom which held the little screw-in legs, but no slits.
