SS Series Switching Power Supplies SS-12

Good price, and perfectly powers up my EF Johnson 5300 mobile radio on the bench at home.

I've always used Astron switching and linear power supplies for my radios and repeaters. They're always been reliable and free of RFI or birdies.Unfortunately, this SS-12 that I purchased to use on a couple of my VHF ASTRO Spectra base radios was quite a letdown.I connected this power supply to my radios, flipped the switch and... tons of static and RF noise came through almost as soon as my radios powered on. Tried it on multiple radios and looked at it with my spectrum analyzer, yep, this power supply generates a large amount of RFI in the VHF 140 and 150 range.Definitely avoid it, purchase something else until Astron fixes this issue. If I wanted RFI, I'd have purchased a cheap supply.
