Solid vise, actually better than the many palmgren vises I have.

I suffered for many years with a inexpensive drill press vise and was finally fed up. What a pleasure to use this one. You get what you pay for!

Good drill press vise. If you have a press, having a decent vise is important. You'll need to supply your own bolts to secure it to the press table, minor expense in the scheme of things.

I bought this for gunsmithing purposes and it has served me well so far. The only thing I would highly recommend is that you GREASE THE MAIN SCREW THOROUGHLY before use. My vice arrived with a thin coat of protective oil from the factory - as will yours. So you must grease - I used a basic moly grease - the screw before you use it. Also, check the screw head bearing (the part that connects the screw to the moving part of the vice) for fit. Mine was over-tightened and the vice was consequently difficult to open/close. Use a hex bit to adjust the grub screw at the head of the moving part of the vice (on top) to a degree that allows the screw to operate easily.
