Rothco Commando Nylon Watch Band

I have been wearing this type of watchband for years. the flap prevents reflections off of the watch lens and protect it from scratching. Life expectancy is about 10 years of daily wear before it gets too ratty to wear. Yes it can be washed.

I have been known to buy a strap or two so I can mix things up when I feel like a change. It’s probably my fault for being ill informed or not paying close enough attention to the description but I wasn’t aware that the strap covers the watch and you have to pull back the cover to see the time. It makes sense if you’re in WWI but these days there are far better choices. Everyone’s taste is different but I’m just over 6” tall and my wrists are 7 3/4 even though I weigh 175-180 and this band looks huge on me so for the guys with smaller hands & wrists this might look like you are wearing a floaty instead of a watch. Appearance aside they are well made and appear to be very durable. Plus it will keep your watch from being scratched but that goes with it also keeping you from seeing it, if that’s a trade off you are good with then you found a winner

I normally wear inexpensive watches which look fine but aren't expensive enough to warrant an expensive replacement band when the original, inexpensive, faux-leather band breaks. I also dislike damaging the case & crystal of a watch while I'm engaged in a DIY project around the house. I've gotten into the routine of checking Amazon whenever I identify a need, just to find what's available. This item seemed be just what I needed for my everyday watch wearing and I am very-well pleased with it. This item is attractive and appears to be well made (I just put it on my wrist, so I'll be seeing how it performs in the future). It's made in Korea. The wrist strap is 10-inch long and 1-3/4-inch wide. I'm average sized and the item fits my wrist with about 1-1/2-inch to spare. The narrow strap which holds the watch is 18-mm, i.e. this item is an 18-mm watch band (18-mm equals 13/16-inch). I don't see how it could be modified to fit a smaller watch size. This seems to be a fairly common size. About 3-inch of this narrow strap is available for the a watch. The cover strap appears to be long enough to accommodate a fairly thick watch, looks like up to 1 in thick. The cover strap has a narrow strip of hooked Velcro at its free end so that when the watch is uncovered the strap can be wrapped under the wrist and fastened to the fuzzy Velcro used to fasten the ends of the wrist strap together so this watch band can be warn with the watch exposed without the cover strap flopping around. I bought only one as I was put off by some of the negative reviews. I plan on buying a couple more now that I've seen the item. It's well worth the price. I can't think of any way to improve it other than noting it's not something I'd wear with a Rolex.

I like this watch band I work in a lot of chemicals ,cements and grouts. Not to mention dust mud water and this band performed perfectly. Easy install of the watch and comfortable the Velcro had one itchy place but a lighter fixed that. Highly recommend if ur job is as grimey and messy as mine.

2 out 3 defective. The length is too short for the cover band to stay back. Its hit or miss with these things. The last few I got are wrong, and only one fit right. Pretty crummy workmanship. You gotta be super hungover or just not care to screw something like this up. Doubt these are really made by Rothco, most likely inmate made in China, sold as US/Rothco made. Gotta break out the sewing machine..AGAIN.

I must say I am VERY disappointed by this product. As mentioned by numerous other reviewers, this watch band is constructed backwards. The nylon strap that replaces the watch securing band is sewn onto the underside of the strap that covers the face of the watch, thus making it impossible to mount the watch! When I have time, I will try to repair the item. I don't feel it is worth the effort to try to send it back (even though I bought 2 of them). The photo included with the item on the description page shows what it should look like on the underside (when you look at the black band). What you get is the watch securing strap sewn onto the "underside" of the band. If you look at the picture with the description, you can see there is nothing sewn on the underside, just the soft velcro "catch" section on the lower left side. If you look at the green band you can see the narrow watch securing strap as it should be on the outer-side. The ones sent out have this on the other side. Very poor job "Rothco"!

I purchased this to protect my smart watch at work. I work as a welder in the industrial and commercial sectors. The first one lasted many years but now the stitching is coming undone. I decided to buy another and get the old one repaired with new Velcro. Amazing product!
