For 8 bucks you get cool air, how can you not love it
I didn't expect much from this for what I paid but I am thoroughly impressed! The fan is strong for its small size and not too loud. The air is definitely cooler and feels great. I love that it runs on batteries or USB cable. I can save the batteries for when I'm on the go and use the USB cable at home and work. No more constantly fanning and drawing attention to myself, yay! I'm buying more of these for my family who are all hot like me ;)Edit (8/28/14): so I did end up buying two more of these (from a different seller) and they were noticeably different than the first one I got. The cord was white instead of black, the sponge was smaller and thinner, and the battery door won't close securely. But the fan was adjustable from low to high, where the first one was not - it's just on or off (but I'd keep it on full blast anyway so I don't need it to be adjustable). Both work best on batteries vs the USB cord, the air flow is much stronger with batteries. So it seems they are not all made from the same manufacturer even though they look very much alike. They all work great, though!

I purchased 6 of these and 5 are dead after less than a week.
I bought 6 of these in preparation for hurricane Irma, along with some other types sold here on Amazon. 2 of them were dead on arrival. One of them wouldn't shut off because the switch didn't work. It burned out after 3 days. Out of the 3 that did work, 2 of them burned out after 4 days. So all 6 units are going back to Amazon. The other portable ones I purchased are still working great after 5 days. While this one had stronger air flow than the others, what good is it if the motor is so cheap that it burns out after a few days? It's not. 5 out of 6 are dead!!! By the way, the other ones I bought are the yellow Momoday a/c fans that you add water to (I bought 6) and the little rechargable Mini Cool units which have a sponge that you wet (I bought 3) Those along with the little battery operated Honeywell fans/air circulators ( I bought 4) are doing a great job keeping us and the dogs cool after 5 days of no power here in Florida.

Nice toy
Let us be very clear about one thing, it's a nice looking toy that does it's job - not exactly a desert cooler, but cool enough to feel the breeze if you are sitting within 2ft of it's range. The sponge, as one user already mentioned, does not have any noticeable effect. But I must say this, it looks damn cool and with the price, while I will not have any high expectation, I will probably look at it fondly and smile.2 more things1. I have not used battery so far, it works perfectly with USB2. Has got noticeable noise but not as loud as your coworkers to complain.BTW, switch looked flimsy so I don't operate it, just plug and unplug to USB. There is a delta increase of airflow if you keep the sponge out (which does not help anyway)

A perfect solution for someone with Thyroid Disease
Let me first explain why I purchased this product. My mother was born with Hypothyroid Disease which causes many things to go wrong on her body, chief among those for her being heat sensitivity. If it's 80 degrees outside, her body will think it's 100 and it will cause her to get dehydrated and feel dizzy among other symptoms. This results in her having to stay indoors with the AC blowing at full power all day and all night long. One day, I have a curious thought. "I wonder if anyone has invented a mini AC device that's portable to help my mother..." So I decided to go on Amazon and type "Mini AC" to see if anything like that existed. Lo and behold... This device appears. I read the reviews and see that some are rather mixed to bad about this product. However, for around $14 at the time of purchase, there was very little to lose if this didn't work, but a whole lot to gain for my mother if this really did work as advertised.Let me tell you, I don't think I've ever seen my mother so happy with one of my gifts for her. This didn't just work well for her needs... It worked amazing! I tried this myself by following the instructions and it really does blow very cold air so long as there's not too much humidity in the air. This allows her to lower the central AC and keep cool wherever she goes now.Thank you, WoneNice, for making such a useful product to help my mom's health!

Disappointment.
Starts out wonderful.....crisp and cool breeze just like I needed for use on my med cart as I pass out pills to patients every morning....but then I would go to turn it on and it simply wouldn't work. I would try intermittently to turn it on and maybe every 10th time it would come on. This item isn't exactly cheap, so I'm disappointed all around.

It's getting hot in here.
I read the reviews before buying this and I'm glad that I chose to try it out anyway. There were many reviews that said it was cheaply made and worked once and then died. I'm a nurse working in a long-term facility. It is always very warm in there because the elderly population have little insulation in their bodies to keep them warm. I hit the floor running from the time I clock in until I leave. The heat gets almost unbearable. When I received my package, I opened it with great expectations. Needless to say, I love this product. It looks and feels sturdy. It is easy to use and very portable. It does what it says it does, cools the air. The only things I don't like about it is, I would like for it to produce a larger volume of cool air and it would be awesome if it could come with a carrying case. All in all, it's a good buy for the price.
