Fox Run Gravy/Fat Poultry, Separator, 1.5-Cup

My old fat separator, which was virtually identical to this one, finally cracked after God only knows how many years! It did not owe anyone anything, and its funeral was well attended! I had a new one ordered the same day. The cost was great. It was shipped quickly, packaged well, and arrived safely. It is heavy plastic, very sturdy, and easy to use. It is easy to clean as long as you have ho water and a little brush to clean the spout--I do have a brush! I have used it a lot since purchase, especially over Thanksgiving. It works sooo well and it is very easy to pour off the fat, saving the drippings. I like the smaller size. I also have a bigger one, but end up using this smaller sized one much more often. I can recommend it without reservation.

This little item works great for separating the fat from the broth, for making gravy. I went to 3 grocery stores and a kitchen ware store looking for this simple item. One of the stores had a complicated-looking machine that would do the trick, but looked like a horror to clean. To separate the fat from the broth, you just pour the liquid into this little thing, wait about a minute, then the fat rises to the top of the “pitcher”. When you pour the broth into a pot or other container, the broth pours out of the bottom of the pitcher, leaving the fat to pour out into another container or garbage. A simple kitchen item that my mother used, but I had a difficult time finding it in a store.

I got it to strain liquid from fatty slow cooked meals into. Fat separates immediately and pour into smaller pot to use for au jus or add thickener for gravy. Low price so deal with cleaning grease from plastic but better than skimming & skimming & skimming...

Works as it should!! I definitely recommend getting one. The only thing is, is that it's relatively small. So if you have a large family or gathering, you'd probably want a bigger one. It's just 2 of us so it's perfect.

I like the size, materials, and look. The biggest thing I don't like is the spout is placed a little bit high. You can't pour out the bottom layer. I guess I've got to make more bacon before I separate the fat

The price of GHEE in supermarket is crazy because it starts with organic grass-fed cows. It is not difficult to make your own using a couple pounds of sale priced butter. It will be good enough for cooking and basting, but I would not spread cheap GHEE on toast.

Thought it was the design it was so crackled. And I didn't use it with very hot liquid.

El solo punto negativo, y tómelo como crítica constructiva es que no es para horno microondas. Ojalá que más adelante salga una versión mejorada para este uso.

Separa bien la grasa, aunque se ve un poco fragil porque es de vidrio.
