Enthralling and Educational - A Sterling Choice!
I recently purchased this Sterling Engine and it’s absolutely fascinating! Placing it atop a hot cup of tea, it starts to work its magic, making it both a charming spectacle and a wonderful educational tool for children. The engine is beautifully crafted, robust, and easy to set up, which adds to its appeal. The seller provided excellent service with speedy delivery, ensuring the product arrived in perfect condition. This Sterling Engine not only entertains but also sparks curiosity about the principles of physics in young minds. I’m thoroughly impressed and delighted with this purchase - it’s a perfect blend of fun and learning. A resounding 5 stars for both the product and the seller! Highly recommended for anyone looking for quality and educational entertainment.

Very happy!
A little finnicky to assemble (fitting the pushrods onto the flywheel cranks, but this is a well-made product that works very well. Nice craftsmanship and excellent as a desk toy gift or for demonstrating a cool scientific principle to a child. I'm very happy!

Great little Stirling engine. Ran off the heat of my hand vs. air conditioned air.
This engine came in two parts, the wheel and all the rest of it. It arrived and I had driven to the post office. I stopped in the parking lot and put it together. This is a matter of hooking two connecting rods over the offset crank. You have to look at the wheel. One side is closer to the wheel than the other and of you look, you will see that one lines up with the displacer and the other lines up with the power piston (the power piston is the small one. They kind of snap on. No tools are needed.Once I had the connecting rod snapped on, I put the engine in my hand, and I put it in front of a vent so that the AC blew on the top and my hand was underneath, there might have been a 20F difference in temperature. After a minute, I gave it a spin and it started. It ran slowly, about 60 RPM. But it ran. On the difference in temperature between my hand and the output from an AC vent.I took it home, it ran most of the way. I have a sous vide that maintains 160F and has a plastic top to slow evaporation. I put it on top of the heated container. and after a short time I spun the engine and it started. I decided I wanted more speed, so I put a zip lock bag of crushed ice, sealed, on top. The speed probably hit 300 RPM.The engine has been running for more than an hour. It runs about 70 RPM (just a guess, slightly faster than I would count seconds). The fit and finish is better than I expected from looking at the picture. The engine is useless other than as a physics demonstration. I have wanted one of these for some time, but I never wanted to spend way more money than this costs for something that is just a toy..but this is much cheaper. It works. It is shiny.

Good Stirling Engine for the money 👍🏼
The media could not be loaded. Good little engine! Only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the flywheel has a slight wobble but it doesn’t seem to affect the performance. I’ve used watch oil to lubricate the engine because it is so light in weight, I’ve oiled the ends of the flywheel axle and all of the pivot points of the crank shafts, also used graphite on the piston, it’s now nice and quiet. I wouldn’t recommend using any other type of oil because anything heavier might bog it down. It runs over half an hour on a cup of coffee ☕️ and I timed it at 2 hours and 58 minutes on a thermos style cup filled with hot water that was preheated in the microwave. I would definitely say the oil is working. I like the retro style of this engine and it is well built for the price!

Great Kitchen Conversation Piece!
This is a great gadget and a lot of fun. It comes fast, works well, and is easy to assemble, though you may want to have a tiny screwdriver or dull knife point to click the two little drive shafts in place. It's super easy and the instructions are good. It took me fewer than five minutes to set up. The great thing about this, which is better than other similar products, is that you don't have to light a fire or use a candle or anything like that. You simply place it on the top of your coffee cup. You can put it on a hot beverage cup you want to keep hot, and watch the little motor do its cool thing, or you can microwave some water in a cup for two minutes and set this gadget on top of the cup for lots of fun. Kids are blown away by this and it is a real conversation piece for adults. Any kid would love to get this as a gift--birthday or Christmas or whatever, because everyone drinks hot tea, hot coffee or hot chocolate at some point, and if not, just hot water--no open flame. Also it is great for teaching kids about external combustion engines and the principles of physics. I haven't had it long, but already its my favorite gadget to play with in the kitchen while I am waiting for the rest of my meal, and I can't wait to show my friends when they come over for dinner. Just a lot of fun without an open flame or any dangerous substances to ignite.

The build quality surprised me
Worked great right out of the box used it in all kinds of ways, as demonstration tool in high school science classes. I ve been very please with build quality and durability. You should probably avoid dropping it. But it gotten pushed around, handled roughly, and put in boxes with other stuff stacked on top of it and it still works great.

Such a cool piece of science!
This thing is so fascinating to me, I work with a bunch of engineers that are geeking over it too. Very simple to setup, squeaks a bit but I’m going to get some libricating graphite like the directions mentioned. Great product, tons of fun!
