Our Hearts Are in England (Victoria) Review: Well made, full of beauty. - To say it's a beautiful book is an understatement. Each page evokes a desire to visit England. I end my evenings leisurely reading & looking at 5-6 pages per night, trying to make the beauty last as long as possible. I live in a small apartment and have a small fixed income; there isn't extra money for all the beautiful things that catch my eye. So I thoroughly enjoy seeing them in mags like Victoria & Tea Time. (Both subscriptions are big splurges for me but well worth the joy they bring me.) This book was also a big splurge & I debated for weeks about whether I should get it: I'm so glad I did! I intend to get a copy for my sister for christmas. It's well made with a hard thick cover & strong binding with thick pages. Each page brings a smile & even more of an appreciation of beauty. It's a book to be enjoyed over & over. Review: Beautiful Book - When I read other reviews about this book they mentioned the large size and weight of it. Yes, it IS a coffee table book, but I did not find it to be overly large or heavy. I am 66 years old, and sat with it in my lap for quite a long time and it was never uncomfortable to hold. If you are at all familiar with publications from "Victoria" you will know that you are getting a lot of "eye candy" here. Beautiful photos! It's not a "travel book" that is going to give you a lot of information when it comes to trip planning...Its just a lovely browse for any anglophile who not only loves England, but gardens, fine china, and cooking too. (there are several recipes) Last I will say that it is nicely bound, quality of the paper is very good. You will be proud to both own it, or give it as a gift if you purchase this.

Victoria has another winner !!
Like ALL the Victoria books from years ago, this newest in their collection meets and beats all expectations ! As a true Anglophile, I was naturally excited about the books debut in the news, but waited rather impatiently for the release. I was not disappointed in the least ! The photographs, the high-quality book cover and construction, as well as the story vignettes are perfect ! It's easy to take yourself to the beautiful Cotswolds and other English locales just by turning the pages... roses, tea, decor, and the idyllic life of England is all there ! I hope Victoria will publish more and more books of this caliber in the very near future !

Gorgeous!
I’m so glad I got this book. The photos are gorgeous and there are recipes in the back as well. Me and my mom actually made one of them the other day. It took us couple of hours to go through all 231 pages. We felt like we were in England and have been daydreaming about cottages ever since. It is a large book so it probably won’t fit on most bookshelves.

Absolutely Beautiful & Informative
Marvelous photography and descriptions. Much information presented in the text in an easy to read and understand style. You don't need to be an Anglophile to find this book rewarding and very enjoyable.

Beautiful but Dreary Photos
I found the book to be inspiring for poetry and painting, albeit nearly depressing poetry. Well...the photos are certainly beautiful and professional. And with professional photography comes polarizing lenses and cloudy days. You see, I'm an artist and love strong lighting, high key lighting, or at least some great contrast as in chiaroscuro. These photos reminded me of the time I lived in the Seattle area. The days were overcast and the fog finally lifted at noon, revealing some color. I love the architecture, gardens, and sprawling country of the Cotswolds depicted. I am sure the recipes are delightful and I'll give them a go. Still, inspiring. Here is a poem I was inspired to write after viewing a few pages: Between Twixt and Two I stumbled upon the grounds of a rosarian and queried, If this could be true, if I merely dreamt of sweet bliss He leaned over with a round of flowers in ribbons and proffered a kiss At once I spied nature and pondered my insignificance. ~S. Lovely book!
I was having a particularly stressful, disheartening day and had about ten minutes to sit down and look through this book, which had just been delivered. To my complete surprise, that ten-minute break lifted my sad mood and made me feel so much better and more energized. I truly did not expect that much of a lift from simply looking through a book. But what a pleasure to be taken completely away for just a short time by an appreciation for beauty and peaceful, wonderful surroundings! Truly a life-enhancing experience. You will not be disappointed by taking some time to enjoy this lovely book.

This book is one that you can refer to over and over. It represents all that is good about the English countryside and lifestyle. The pictures are of very high quality and makes you want to be there and the text and recipes just add to the quality. I would strongly recommend this book for personal use or as a gift.

This book is amazing, the photos are beautiful, could be a coffee table book. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves England or just curious about this country. I fell in love with England all over again.
