Trouble at 't Crimson Demons!!
This is where Kazuma and co respond to a crisis at the village of the Crimson Demons. That's right, this covers the events of the new movie "KONOSUBA Legend of Crimson" but since it does actually differ here and there I'd say read the manga and then watch the movie. It will aid your enjoyment of it and of course what you do with art on a page and what you do in the animated medium do need to differ to obtain the premium results for each. (see Interspecies Reviewers for another demonstration of that truth)RECOMMENDED. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED. Order vol10 too at the same time

The movie in manga form
Konosuba volume 9 concludes the crimson demon village arc. Which got a movie adaptation and reading the manga the final battle is a wash. It was better in the movie however it shows more world building than action. With Megumin being the girl whose showcased the formerly most popular character who is still a fan favorite and what’s not to love? The manga also gives us a sneak peak of volume 6 of the light novel which would hopefully get an anime adaptation. This volume was weaker than the last due to the action focus not even competing with the movie. Still, it was funny the art was great and Megumin is a top tier character an easy recommendation.

My Favorite Manga
I bought the whole collection and I really enjoy this series. The anime version is good too but the manga is better.

Doesn't do the original justice. Strongly recommend the LN.
It pains me to give anything Konosuba less than five stars, but Masahito Watari has done the series an injustice. Most of this volume is adapted from the second half of the 5th light novel. I thought that part was very well done. It stayed true to the original, and I thought the few changes it made were in good taste. I absolutely love the light novels, so I’m most critical of anything that strays from canon. It’s the final chapter of this volume, which is based on the beginning of the 6th light novel, that I have a problem with. I’ve been eagerly waiting for the manga to cover this part of the LN for years now, but now all that anticipation has been replaced by concern. First, they completely cut out a pretty big chunk of content that I had been looking forward to (A hilarious bit that involves Kazuma forcing Darkness to wear a maid outfit). That was pretty disappointing, but it doesn’t bother me as much as what happened next. Darkness gets attacked at the end of this volume. In canon/the LN, that attack only managed to scratch her arm. This was supposed to showcase how tough she is, just like when she survived Megumin’s explosion. For some reason, Watari changed it. Instead, they made the attack pierce completely through Darkness’s arm. They messed with Darkness’s defense. Now that’s crossing the line. Maybe they just did that for the cliffhanger, and they’ll retcon it in the next volume, but my hopes aren’t high.I hope I’m wrong, but I’m starting to suspect that Watari has developed a bias against Darkness. I’m sure the 3rd anime season will do better than this when it eventually comes. Right now, I’m worried for the future of the manga, especially as it approaches the 7th LN volume.
