School Bugs: An Elementary Pop-up Book by David A. Carter (David Carter's Bugs)

Super cute book! The most laughable for adults is the music bugs: AKA Beatle bugs! Fun to read as a bedtime story. I don't recommend it being left around because of damage to the book. It has some elaborate pop ups.

My daughter loves pop-up books. (They remain high on a shelf out of reach and we only read them together so she can't damage them). We have quite a collection now and her favorites are definitely these "bugs" books by Carter. We already have several and I came on Amazon to order more for my nieces and nephews for Christmas. I usually order books that have the most/best reviews. Being that this book only had one review I figured it wasn't as popular as the others for a reason, but took a chance and ordered it anyhow. I am so glad I did! She likes this one the best (and so do I). Each page has a different box that open up to reveal various "bugs". A math box, an art box, a music box.....you get the idea. The music box has the Beetle Bugs (who look like The Beatles - ha!) My daughter's favorite box was the lunchbox which when opened revealed a sandwich inside. And I started to turn the page but she stopped me and opened the sandwich (leave it to a 3 year old to know that it opens up!!!!) But the best part of this book (and the most amazing) is the last page which has a playground. Bugs are hanging, swinging, climbing and going down the slide. The pop-up comes up 6 inches off the page and is 3D. My daughter just stared at it and then said "WOW mommy look at that!" And personally I think everyone should buy this book so their kids can say that too.

Love these books by David A. Carter. Such great illustrations and intricate pop-ups. Most likely best to be read to any child under 3 so as not to risk having the pop-ups pulled apart. A four year old and older will appreciate the artwork and design and safeguard the pop-ups. (Experience with these books and children have proven me right.)Have 4 of these books and can’t wait to buy more. A great gift.

I have a collection of David Carter's pop-up books including this one. I didn't want to give away my copy so I bought another one to give to my granddaughter. She started preschool this year. I love the playground on the last 2 pages. I plan on taking an image of her and sticking it in the little red schoolhouse and on the bug (with re-positional glue) coming down the slide! I can't wait to see her reaction to "being" in the book!

My grandkids love these books. They are very educational along with being a lot of fun to read. I would not suggest getting these books for any child under the age of 3 because they can easily tear. I got my granddaughter several of these before she was 3 and some of them are torn, because she didn't understand that she had to be gentle with them. She is now 3 and she really enjoys them a lot more because she knows how to take care of her books. Great books!!!

My two year old enjoys looking at this book. I bought it for him as a treat for surviving his first week at preschool

I have always loved David Carter's pop-up books, and this new one did not disappoint! Arrived in good time, and in great condition! My grandchildren love it!

This is another great pop up book by David Carter. I had to send back the first one I received since it was split open by the spine, the second one I received was in much better shape but still a bit damaged which was unfortunate. I have bought a bunch of other David Carter pop up books and they've all been in great shape.
