Live on the Sunset Strip is Worth the Purchase.
Pryor at his worst was better than most standup comics. Here you get one of his best performances with Live from the Sunset Strip, but you also get the inferior Here and Now as well. Pryor was known to be a performer who had to be in the right mood to do his best work, and I believe Pryor pretty much bombed in his first Sunset Strip performance because he wasn't 'feeling it." However, he came back the second night and gave one of his career best performances. Both acts could have benefited from being a little tighter, but Pryor tended to be fast and loose when performing and didn't seem to stick to a rigid set.

Get it while you can!
Brilliant, edgy, taking racism head on from the viewpoint of the 70s, when it was a lot worse than it is today. There is so much about this performance that is so not PC that I scooped it up, before the thought police got it removed. These performances are the best of perhaps the greatest comedian of all time. Without these shows, we wouldn't have gotten the brilliance of Delirious and Raw from Eddie Murphy and so much great comedy since. Catch these groundbreaking performances today!

Two in One Special!
Having I comedy special of Richard Pryor is good but two in one package is excellent. This man, as troubled as he was in life, was brilliant on stage. His comedic timing was impeccable. He could have you laughing hysterically one minute and crying the next. That was his genius. He took the experiences of his life and transformed the good, bad & ugly into sketches that caught your attention and brought your awareness to new heights. I was blessed to see him at Radio City Music Hall before his downfall and was mesmerized. His use of foul language was in the contents of the character and not used for shock value, as is the tool for so many comics today. He was and still is the " Best Comic Ever" in my book!
