Makes You Love Cooking
This All-Clad Cookware Set is an outstanding choice for anyone that loves to cook. This set is awesome, and offers exceptional durability due to its construction. They have a quick and even heat distribution, which significantly improves cooking performance for things like searing and browning. Being able handle temperatures up to 600°F, makes them suitable for use in the oven which I’ve done for Cinnamon rolls. The set is also relatively easy to clean, with most food residues coming off easily with a bit of soaking and scrubbing, and their dishwasher safe. I still use vinegar and baking soda after each use to shine them back up. In addition to its practical benefits, the polished stainless steel finish adds a sleek, professional look to any kitchen. Although this set is a significant investment, the durability, performance, and aesthetic appeal make it well worth the price, ensuring it will be a valuable addition to the kitchen.

The great starter kit
When you first receive it, the pots came in a used package. It was an Amazon return & it was packaged fairly well, but there was some loose ends inside which is expected from a returned item. Pros: These are medium to high end cooking ware. It is not the D5, but the D3. The D3’s are lighter and are better for a gas stove. We are better because they do not hold as much heat therefore, you do not need that much energy in your shop to change temperatures. They don’t hold as much heat as a D5 but for my application and my poor abilities of cooking it works well. I don’t usually cook, but I can boil water very well. Keeping them clean seems to be tedious but with some water and soap and a cleaner, you’re OK Con: They’re not the heavy duty D5. they are lighter and don’t feel sturdy in your hands. So if you’re doing saucing, it does not work as well. Overall, I give these a five. The cost to product value is great. So when my cooking friends come over my house, I have reasonable good pots and pans for them to make me a tasty dish

Amazing upgrade if you’re used to cheap basic cookware
I love this set! This is my first dip into expensive cookware. I have been cooking up a storm in these pans! If you’ve been looking around for reviews on this set, you probably have been seeing people saying “don’t buy a set, but prices individually” because certain pans won’t get used. Well, I have been using every single piece of my set. It was an amazing deal! It’s nice to have the consistency of heat and performance with the pans. Once you get a handle on the learning curve when switching to stainless, you get optimal browning and heat. They all clean up easy too! I might have to let a pan sit with warm water and soap, but they always end up wiping clean no matter how burnt on some stuff might get! It’s amazing to be able to clean the pan by making a sauce with the fond while cooking. I can’t recommend the pans enough, they have upped my cooking game significantly. They’re beautiful, sturdy, and high quality cookware that I will probably outlive me as long as it’s taken care of. You get what you pay for!

Clean freaks: read before buying
These pans are great, although sometimes I do wonder if they are worth the maintenance. I would probably give them 4.5 stars if I could. Pros: - They cook really well. They distribute heat very evenly and are great for browning meats and deglazing. They feel solid and are just nice to cook with. Definitely top of the line in this regard. - American-made, if that is important to you. Cons: - Expensive. Costco has a set that looks just like these for a fraction of the price. I have no doubt that these will perform better when cooking, but I am not sure by how much. - Hard to clean. If you are a clean freak like me and think you'll just be able to wash these with soap and water and be done, you're in for a rude awakening. You need to use Barkeeper's Friend, which is a stainless steel cleaner that comes in a powder form. I hit them with that stuff at least every other time I wash them, otherwise you'll get discolorations, water marks, and stains over time. You also can't let them air dry, because, again, you will get ugly water marks. I do throw my pots/pans in the dishwasher regularly, and I think they have lost some of their shine, but I don't really care. They still look great when I keep up with using the stainless steel cleaner. Some people have said they are not dishwasher safe. All-Clad says they are definitely dishwasher safe, but will lose their brilliance over time when washed in the dishwasher. - Lids are not heavy enough. They aren't flimsy, but they are very light. You can't cook rice in these pots without weighing down the lid, which is pretty dumb. I don't know why you would ever want such a light lid. - The pans are pretty small. If you want to cook a meal for a bunch of people, you're not going to be able to do it in these pans. It feels kind of crazy to spend $700 on this set, and then have to spend another $200 on a decent-sized frying pan. If you're usually cooking for one or two people this won't be an issue though. Overall: I am happy with them, but they're not perfect. I'd probably recommend just buying a set at Costco unless you make a lot of money or just really want to make the investment.

Pre heating is key and
People are going to tell you that the pan sticks and that it is difficult to clean well that people didn’t read the instructions. Pre heating is key controlling the temperature is key letting the food naturally unstick from the pan is also key, and the website tells you everything you need to know. Best pan ever, just need to follow the process on order to cook right.

NOT DISHWASHER SAFE! Protect your investment!
I have finally learned my lesson after purchasing this set: please note that even though these state that they are dishwasher safe, they really aren't. This is because of the Tri-poly layering, so there is a very thin layer of aluminum that is exposed along the rims. Especially on any pan that has a rolled edge. Any exposed aluminum that is put in the dishwasher will corrode due to the harsh detergents used in dishwashers. It doesn't matter what type you use (we've tried them all, including a homemade one), the ingredients in the detergents that are necessary to get your dishes clean are also too harsh for aluminum. This is why those pans get a gray or white powdery residue on them when they are run through the dishwasher. We have completely eliminated all aluminum from our kitchen and use only stainless steel because of health concerns, and it just makes life a lot easier. While I understand the importance of hand washing certain things - like wooden items (utensils, cutting boards) and knives (to retain their sharp edge), I am a busy person, so now and then, if there is room, I like to put a pot or pan in the dishwasher if there is room. So when a product states that it is dishwasher safe, I would like to think they are TRULY dishwasher safe. Which to me means there is NO aluminum exposed whatsoever, because I know it will corrode in the dishwasher. Which means they are left with a worn down edge, making the stainless steel layers sharp to the touch. I know this because when we were first married, we purchased a very expensive Belgique set. We had no clue about metals and detergents or anything like that, so put them through the dishwasher all the time. Over time, the exposed aluminum wore down and the exposed edges (on the bottoms of their products) were sharp...and ugly. Last year I decided it was time to get something else so purchased a Cuisinart stainless steel set that also stated they were dishwasher safe. It was quickly apparent that they really weren't, as they also had an exposed aluminum edge (on the top of their products) that wore down and the stainless layers also became sharp. Being very frustrated about this, I decided to do some serious research on stainless steel pots and pans - reading hundreds of reviews and articles and washing dozens of videos to learn everything I could. I finally settled on this very expensive set, which I just purchased over "greed weekend" (aka Black Friday) because they were on sale. It was a BIG investment for something as simple as stainless steel pots and pans, but the description clearly states that they are DISHWASHER SAFE, as well as their website and other sources. When they arrived, I was immediately struck at how nice these pots and pans are. So professional looking and the nicest we've ever owned, even after having the expensive Belgique and Cuisinart sets. There's just something about these that look and feel more expensive. On close inspection, we couldn't see any exposed aluminum. It all looked like they had closed the tri-poly layers with stainless steel, so everything was contained, and we were so happy to FINALLY have something that was actually 100% dishwasher safe. No more corrosion or sharp edges! Or so we thought. We have used a few of the pots/pans in the past few days and last night I had an open spot in the dishwasher so I went ahead and put one in, assured that all would be well. Fast forward to this morning when I went to unload the dishwasher and imagine my horror when I pulled out the pot and noticed the tale-tell signs of dusty white around the top edge of the pot - apparently the aluminum IS exposed, just like with the other brands, and just ONE cycle through the dishwasher made it lose it's shine and when I rub my fingernail over the edge, I can feel (and see) the layers of stainless steel and aluminum now, because that one cycle in the dishwasher has worn it down just enough that it is now visible. So I have learned a very important lesson here - there is NO SUCH THING as 100% dishwasher safe when it comes to anything made of tri-poly layers. There must be no way for them to completely enclose the aluminum so there will always be a small strip exposed. Or maybe it needs that exposure to expand and contract with the heat, since aluminum and steel conduct heat differently. I wanted to write this review so that if you are considering making this investment, I DO highly recommend these: they are not only beautiful, but they perform fantastically. The sizes are absolutely perfect for our needs (and actually fit our burners perfectly too, which is something we've never experienced either). But, I STRONGLY advise that you NEVER EVER EVER put these in the dishwasher. Like ever. Never ever ever. If I could go back and not put that 1 pot in the dishwasher last night, I would. I don't mind hand washing, but if something is advertised as dishwasher safe, then it really should be. So just be aware that it's not entirely true.

Will probably have these pans the rest of my life
Had them for a year now. Best set of pots and pans I’ve ever had. People in the reviews that have problems with cleaning them don’t understand stainless steel care. Even though it says dishwasher safe, don’t do it. Just preheat your pans properly so food won’t stick and occasionally use barkeepers friend or boil some vinegar mixed with water in them for a minute. Minor blemishes on them are normal if you use them. They won’t be blemish free forever. They will and should look like a well loved set if you use them all the time. I switched to stainless steel after having nonstick pans and they started flaking off in my food. I knew stainless steel would require more care but it really doesn’t take that much more time when you preheat your pans. The food just slides out. And you don't need to use such high heat, just preheat for a few minutes on low until water starts beading instead of evaporating.

Quality
I bought these as a Christmas gift last year. She absolutely loved them. She has been using them all year. They are on the heavy side but good cook wear tends to be. They clean nice in the dishwasher.
