Attractive addition to your garden arsenal, great against fungus and blight. Airborne pests? Not so much.
The CedarCide granules look very nice, and are keeping most pests off my tomatoes, at least all the crawling ones. CedarCide also seems to reduce blight and fungus. Last year I fought a losing battle. This year, I put down an even half inch of CedarCide, covering the entire garden bed where I am growing tomatoes and squash. In my flower bed, where I did not have CedarCide, I lost some young nasturtiums and petunias. There are actual bites taken out of them! I have since added the cedar as top layer, but I'm afraid the nasturtiums and my herbs are also being eaten by flying critters such as cabbage moth caterpillers. Also, obnoxious black gnats appeared on the tomato stems. My solution to that was a DIY pest and fungus spray: 2 TBSP CedarCide granules, 2 tsp tea tree oil, 2 tsp Dr. Bronner's Sals Suds, 1 peeled garlic clove, SHAKEN in a gallon of water and thoroughly applied with a sprayer. The flowers and herbs don't mind it, the tomatoes and squash seem happier. They are getting enormous.UPDATE, LATE SUMMER, 2016I lost every squash vine to vine borers. The cedar granules did nothing to keep the moths away or prevent the eggs from hatching. I also used neem oil, to no effect. Those vine borers are horrible. Healthy vines shrivelled to gray rags in 24 hours.Unfortunately, Cedarcide doesn't seem to work against anything airborne. It's supposed to repel mosquitoes, too, but certainly doesn't keep them off me! I got bitten every time I worked in the garden. It's scary, because my area of Queens is the exact center of West Nile virus contagion in New York. I've aleady been sick with the symptoms. But it was really helpful with cutting down fungus and mildew, especially when the rain back-splashed the tomato and pepper leaves.UPDATE June 2017This year, I am putting Cedarcide around my first strawberry and melon plants. Never tried to grow fruit before. I am now using Cedarcide to correct a BAD mistake. I had put down cocoa hulls as a mulch, because reviewers talked about how nice it smells. Unfortunately, it encourages, and even feeds funguses of all kinds — white mold, gray mold, toadstools — and inhibited the growth of ALL my plants! I had planted robust little tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, melons, nasturtiums, impatiens, and for a solid month they just sat there, drooping, no new leaves, some starting to die. The strawberries got moldy. It's been horrible. I wanted to cry. So ten days ago I decided to pull away the cocoa hulls and put down Cedarcide granules. Suddenly, the little guys are standing taller, putting out new leaves, and the strawberries even put out a few flowers. In ten days! I assume the Cedarcide is killing off the mold! And here's one more use: I just bought fine-mesh lingerie bags with zippers, for laundry — and I am filling them with Cedarcide and putting them in the closet where the winter coats and wool sweaters usually make a nice buffet for the moths. In an enclosed space, it smells quite strong; I am pretty sure I can say good-bye to the moths!(Good-bye, moths.)

It works!
I live in Florida and have a ton of mosquitos and other pests in my back yard during the summer. I sprinkle this with a spreader around my yard and it has done wonders. I haven't seen any ants, mosquitos, or ticks so far since I've applied it. Definitely can tell a difference and I love the smell of cedar. It's faint once applied but it's there.

The smell of this stuff is amazing
I love knowing that this is safe for my pets while repelling bugs. And when I step outside it smells so good nothing like chemical sprays.I wish it wasn't so pricey.

My entire home is bug free and safe for pets - DIY!
This stuff is absolutely the best pest control. We live in the southeast and are surrounded by construction in a new build. We had spiders everywhere, were finding bugs in the dogs water bowl each morning and everything was crawling on the patio. After trying a green Pest Control Service with limited results I searched for something I could do myself that was safe for my dog and myself. I have used Cedarcide Lawn Spray for ticks and fleas which worked great so decided to order a large bag of the Cedar Granules. I had watched a video where some old guy poured termite killer around his entire house and it worked. I figured I could do the same thing with something safer for all these crawling things. My boyfriend poured the entire bag at the base of the house all the way around including the patios. It took a week to get rid of what was already inside but since then - nothing. A month has gone by and not one thing that crawls has crossed that line. It has been raining for a week so I just ordered another bag to replace anything that may have washed away. This is much safer and effective than exterminating with chemicals and cheaper too. Save your hard earned money and pets by giving it a try.

Works for Some Bugs, Not Fleas
I used the Cedarcide granules specifically to repel fleas, but it didn’t work as expected. I found many dead bugs like spiders, beetles, and a water bug, but the fleas remained. At nearly $50 for 8 lbs, I was hoping for a better result. I applied the product in my garage, where a mother stray cat and her two kittens had taken refuge, but it didn’t resolve the flea problem as I had hoped. Very disappointed because I was looking for a non-toxic product for safe use around animals.

Costs too much
I guess I should have read the product description better. I was hoping this would be a cedar product that was more potent than cedar chips to help get rid of fleas out of the yard naturally. This is just super finely chopped cedar. Cedar does help with fleas, but for the cost I can go to any store and buy cedar chips for under $15 for a large bag. I just have to spread by hand and in just a couple days the grass grows and you can't see it.

Works great! Six months after use review
We live in a thick wooded area that tends to get a lot of ticks. I put this out in the beginning of summer and we have not seen any ticks or mosquitoes hardly at all this year!! Also, my dog has not gotten any text either. He does have medicine, but I think this definitely helped. Didn’t seem any of our plants or grass at all
