Highly recommended. Great invention. Saved my furniture. Make sure you let the glue dry well.
One great invention. New couch was arriving and something had to change. The end of my other couch was in tatters. Checked out so many products/guards etc and decided on this one. My cat doesn't like them but I don't care. Seems fair. I don't like him scratching my furniture and he doesn't care. He got used to them very quickly. He never tried to chew them off.He HATES having his claws clipped or touched. Consequently, they were really hard to put on my cat. But completely worth it. We only put them on the front claws. Person One clipped all the claws first. Person One had to hold the cat still and keep him from biting Person Two. Person Two put the glue in the soft claws, pulled back the fur around the claws to keep from gluing it, and slipped the soft claws over his claws. Person One had to hold the soft claw in place for the glue to dry and offer soothing reassurances which did nothing to fool the cat or Person Two but made Person One feel better.Make sure you let the glue dry completely before moving to the next claw. It makes all the difference and dries quickly. I read these will fall off as the claw sheds every couple of months when the new sharp claw grows out. A couple fell off in the first week. A few more have fallen off over a period of three months. Some original claws are still on. They really do last. When he jumps on the couch and begins to scratch we know a claw has come off because when all the soft claws are on he doesn't try to scratch. I check periodically (remember he HATES having his claws touched) and the claws seem fine. I read a review that said a cat got an infection due to the claws being on too long and not allowing new claws to grow out but no problems so I suspect that case was an anomaly. Replacing one claw is not so traumatic as the initial application. I used the clear claws and they do look a little funny, shiny and poofy, but you really can't see them unless you are looking closely because he is long haired and has fur between the toes. These saved my furniture and, surprisingly, saved my skin when he jumps up and starts to "knead". Couldn't be happier with my purchase.

They actually do work!
I was really unsure of getting these because I didn't see many reviews for long term use. My family purchased new furniture and I thought about scratchproof coverings but those seemed more bulky and expensive. My cat is not used to having their paws handled, but he is very docile, so using these were no problem. I was able to trim the nails and glue the caps on within 7 minutes. I did use one of the tips it comes with (there are four) the first time, but it slips off. I realized that cutting the glue tip at an angle helps with not needing them. He tried for about a minute to chew them off but was unsuccessful. So far, its been a month and they are AMAZING! Only three have come off and its obvious that the nail had shed. Replacing them takes about 30 seconds (make sure to clip the fresh tip of the nail). They have held up for a month now. The best part that is not mentioned and needs more attention is the fact that you can actually play with your cat because there is no fear of those nails becoming imbedded in your flesh and causing significant pain. I have been able to play with my cat with my hand jutting under blankets and them attacking the unseen foe. Going in for claw hand attacks on top of kitties head is pain free. Swipes for random foot movement is no longer feared. I absolutely love these and will purchase again! They really nailed this product!

They work!!
My cat tolerated the application better than expected! She just licked her paws and that was it 👍. I will definitely be buying again, but will need to purchase both Med & large since some nail beds are larger than others. These caps just saved my living room furniture! 🙌

Actually work
Bought these for my son. He just bought new living room furniture and his cat was pretty rough on previous sofa with scratching. He followed instructions and they look nearly undetectable (clear ones) and don’t bother the cat at all. They stay on for a long time if applied properly…and I presume his big kittie must not be chewing on them. I had low expectations but pleasantly surprised!

Great idea, but didn't work for my cat
Great in theory. They went on easily and fit perfectly. My cat tolerated the application and didn't seem bothered by them when I first put them on. However, within a half hour I found them discarded on the floor. She must've methodically pulled them all off while grooming.

No more scratches and safe for your kitty
These are really great once they're on. I am not capable of getting them on - I give in to my kitty's bossiness - so I take him to the vet. The vet trims his claws and puts these on in less than 20 minutes! They stay on for various amounts of time. If I keep him busy he forgets to pick at them. The first time they lasted 5 weeks, the second time 3 weeks. He chewed them off one by one for the fun of it. It's ok if he swallows one - the manufacturer kept that in mind so kitties are not hurt by that.I think these are great when you first get your kitty, especially at the kitten stage. If you can keep it up through that first 6mos - 1yo mark, you'll find they are now trained to not sharpen their claws on you or the furniture. They absolutely will not hurt when the cat extends his claws! Sure beats the pain of having your baby declawed.

So cool!!
I never knew you could cover claws! This is a handy alternative to de-clawing the cat! They last quite a long time and they look super cute!

Wrong size in box
I have ordered these SoftClaws in Medium size for many years as they have been a wonderful solution to avoid damage from cat scratching This last order says medium size but the little covers are much smaller than before. Something is wrong with the product. I order two boxes both the same.

Didn't work
Others may have had success but my cat can't stand them and consistently manages to rip them off after many attempts. It drove him crazy for days, felt cruel.

So far, so good
Our strictly indoor cat was REALLY attracted to our new couch. Started wanting to scratch the vertical surfaces within 20 min of setting it up. We covered the couch in blankets and ordered claw caps. We watched online tutorials for help with application. Our cat is 12 years old so we had very limited expectations on getting her used to the caps. We shortened the claws a few days before in preparation. The caps were pretty challenging to get on as our cat doesn't like being held in the first place. Best to have 3 people. They would be a breeze to get on if the cat didn't struggle. We got it done in about 20 minutes. We had her favorite food ready during and after application. For the first few hours, she tried tugging at the caps with her teeth as she was grooming...we distracted her as best we could with her favorite toys and snacks. She got used to them remarkably quickly. We are also using double sided stickers on the couch (see photos) in combination with the claw caps. Its been 10 days and so far the caps are still solidly on and she is not scratching the couch anymore. Luckily she wasn't attracted to scratching the seat cusions so there is no protection there...she still joins us on the couch for TV time. Our plan is to remove stickers after aroud 30 day to see if she has been trained to stay away from vertical couch surfaces🤞.Hope this helps someone.
