Beautiful art that looks like famous works from the renaissance period.
This is a very fascinating book. The premise behind the pictures is that the artist took several versions of a picture from the renaissance period and created his own work of art. He did an absolutely gorgeous job. His work is spot on. If you are a fan of the renaissance period, you will be able to spot or recognize the famous works of art that he used to create a new piece. I can't say enough about the fabulous job that he did, from a very difficult directive. The art in this book is basically line art with minor shading. It definitely isn't grayscale, but has some similar attributes. I started working on my first piece yesterday and I'm having a wonderful time with this book. So, you may look briefly and think that a picture is a copy of a famous work of art. You would be mistaken. I only say this because the line art on this book is that fabulous. Here is the opportunity to color a new work of art and feel like you are a famous artist from the renaissance period.Have an absolutely wonderful time with this book. Frame some of your finished pieces. This is a book to be looked at and marveled over.Have an absolutely blessed day and color on!!

Ameturish drawings.
I am not driving all the way into the city to return a 9 dollar coloring book. I was shocked at the ameturish artwork of this book. All the reviews were glowing. No way to see the quality. The hands and faces are all the same and disappointing. Looks like the art of a young teenager. Graphite pencil sketches. No thanks.

Beautiful artwork
Chinthaka Herath has created beautiful portraits in the Renaissance style. Printed on decent quality one sided paper. Recommend to all colorists, esp. if you love coloring people and classical portraits.

I Love to Color!
I went on a cruise last week and brought my Renaissance Adult Coloring Book with me. While coloring in one of the dining rooms, about 6 or 7 crew members came up to me to see what I was doing. I told them and they wanted me to give them a colored picture from my Renaissance book! Now I have 7 pages missing but they are well loved! They all loved the Renaissance pictures!

Perfect.
I purchased this book, because I love to color, but I’ve been learning how to color digitally...this book came with a free download code for a digital version! Now I have the best of both worlds. Depending on my mood, I can grab my iPad and Apple Pencil, OR I can use the physical book, and my colored pencils. I love the versatility. The images drawn by the artist are beautiful!

Impressive Art!
I am really enjoying the Renaissance Coloring Book I ordered. The illustrations aren't the regular lineart you see in most coloring books but they are sketches and compilations of several original pieces as seen thru modern eyes. Definitely a recommend on this!

Beautiful
I haven't started coloring in it yet, but I love every picture and that rarely happens with a coloring book! I highly suggest this if you like the Renaissance look and want the opportunity to use advanced coloring techniques. These will be beautiful enough to display once I get them colored. A great purchase!

Beautiful
The drawings in the book are incredibly beautiful and inspired by the Renaissance. I’m so glad they are line drawings and not greyscale., but they are line. I would encourage anyone who likes coloring women to purchase this book. Every page is a keeper.

Really nice book but watch out for the tiny hands!
I bought this book after seeing a flip-through video, and I'm mostly happy with it. The pictures are all pencil sketched by hand and include shading, so there is some element of greyscale. They are nearly all long-haired ladies - just two males are featured in the whole book. Pages are one sided and there's 47 completely different images so it's quite good value (no repeats and no half-hearted filler pages). The pictures are inspired by paintings from the Renaissance period (some much more loosely than others). There are a few nearly-nudes, but draped fabrics, foliage and flowers are tastefully placed in key areas to retain modesty. The paper is typical cheapish colouring book paper (pretty thin) so I'm guessing coloured pencils (or maybe a careful base layer of marker) would be best if you're colouring in the book, but (hooray) the book also includes access to the PDF digital version, so you can print onto better paper. This is a huge positive point for me, as I like to print onto watercolour paper and use watercolour pencils or paints. I've started work on a couple of pages and am very much enjoying colouring them.On the negative side, the images are a little too heavily shaded for my personal taste - there's a lot of grey on the page to start with, which might be great for those who struggle with shading, but it can dull colours somewhat if you're using transparent media on top. Also, the drawings are a little naive or unsophisticated in parts - especially the hands, which the artist obviously struggles with drawing to look realistic and to scale with the body and perspective. Several of the hands are completely the wrong scale (mostly way too small) and look amateurishly rendered.Overall though, I really like this book. It's something a bit different, and some of the images are are really charming.

A little over priced for the variety
Not a great variety of picture types, not really worth the price.
