Swivel Base Drill Bit Set Black

They work really well....after you sharpen them. I don't know why they chose to put the black finish on them but it just makes them dull. A few minutes on a fine stone and they are razor sharp and cut super clean.

These work much easier than using 2 different size drill bits and leaves a nice clean hole with no burrs in the wood.

These have square shoulders that will chip your stock surface even if it's taped as instructed. They do the job, but extra caution is advised. Spend more, get more.

I used this set to install a rear swing swivel stud on my Henry lever action. I covered the area with painters tape and using a small square and ruler I located the site to drill using the screws in the buttplate as a guide. I drilled the initial hole slightly under size using a taped on Gator V Drill guide and got a perfect pilot hole. To get the the hole recessed properly for the spacer i used one of these bits because unlike a regular countersink they cut a flat countersink. I did this all with a hand drill and it looks perfect. If you take your time, measure carefully and tape well this is a pretty easy job.

This is a sturdy specialized drill bit set that makes installing rifle swivels relatively easy. The bits are sturdy and the price is fair.

The instructions are not great and the black finish on the bits wore off after the first use. They do work, though, and the counter-sink is a nice addition. If I had it to do over again, I would have just used two different sizes bits and saved the money.

I've wanted a set of these drill bits for along time. They work great and make perfect holes for sling studs. The packaging says it has thorough instructions but as a technical writer I would say there are some gaps. It was not an a big deal to me because I already knew what each bit was for, however some may not.

This is a must have for mounting a sling swivel to a rifle. I would not recommend doing this job w/o this tool.
