Great Watch for a Cheapskate Like Me
If you want to skip the detail, just go to the end of the review for pros, cons, and recommendation. With that said, I am very particular about watches and a cheapskate. My previous watch was a Citizen that served me well for many years. In fact, the Citizen is still working perfectly but is worn and needed replacement. I purchased four different watches to replace the Citizen which were an Armitron, a Seiko, a Stuhrling, and another Citizen. What I found interesting is that while the Seiko and Citizen were very nice watches, their bands were very thin and just felt cheap. The watches themselves were excellent timepieces but I am in this game for looks as well. The Armitron and Stuhrling had much bigger and thicker bands but the Armitron watch overall was just not up to par. I have never had a Stuhrling before and did a lot of research and review reading. I was curious about why the MSRP of the watch and the selling price had such a vast difference but found on the Stuhrling site a very interesting explanation in the FAQ section. To make a long story short, Stuhrling has decided to be an e-retailer instead of traditional brick-and-mortar and can pass these savings along to the end user. An MSRP in my book has always been an arbitrary inflated number anyway so just compare the actual prices. You are going to pay what the manufacturer wants to you to pay in any case, no matter the MSRP or if the watch is “on sale” (another marketing gimmick that insults my intelligence). For those other reviewers that complain the watch just stopped working or had water inside, I think the crown must not have been screwed down all the way. The screw-down crown is needed for this diver-style watch. I don’t ever plan to wear mine scuba diving or swimming so this is not a concern to me. Anyone paying attention will screw the crown in properly. In conclusion, this is a great watch for around $60 and if it lasts a couple of years I feel like I am way ahead. It just plain looks cool and tells time accurately.Pros:-Large watch face (slightly larger than a “typical watch face”)-Ronda 515 Swiss movement-Very good build quality-Price sensitive shoppers will appreciate style, look, and quality in this very low price range. In my opinion, this watch is a much nicer than a Seiko and Citizen that cost over $40 more.Cons:-Newer manufacturer with a limited history.-Unsure of where watch was actually made. Could be Chinese but I must say this is a very well made watch for the money.-It will be interesting to see how long the battery lasts. The typical battery life from the factory according to the manufacturer is 3.75 years.Recommendation:-Highly recommend if you are on a budget but want a stylish watch that looks much more expensive that it actually is. Don’t hesitate to give this brand a try. Just return it if you don’t like it.

I can see it! (Even without my glasses!)
By far the largest watch I have ever worn. It took me a couple of days to get used to it. It's HUGE! It sets easy enough, IF you read the directions...I thought I'd just go in and set it..it's just another watch, right? WRONG! But once you get the stem out where it needs to be, its a breeze. It is luminous, but you really have to shine a light on directly for it to show up in the dark for any length of time. It's not super light sensitive, but the number will glow brightly for a decent amount of time if you expose them to direct light. I haven't submerges with it yet, but it does look fairly tight and well made. No doubt I have had it wet, riding 4 wheelers on the river, and its nice not to have to worry about it. I have a fairly big wrist. This thing fits pretty tight, and the band came adjusted all the way out. If you have really big wrists, I'd plan on having an extra link put in.The watch is stylish, though thats not a big issue with me. It just looks expensive, at least for me and my tastes. The bezel is a ratcheting, one way type, and is fairly tight. You're not going to just bump this one and have it rotate. I don't think it would be too easy to manipulate with dive gloves on, either. The grip is positive, but small. All in all, I love it! I'm not sure the "list" price is any where near realistic, but the price I got it here on Amazon for was plenty reasonable for the quality of watch I got. Oh! And it comes in a really cool, expensive looking box, too! This would make a great presentation/gift idea!

Great value
This is a good value priced watch that is a great value for a dive watch in this price range. The quartz movement is made by a Swiss company. It's one of their lower end movements but is still a good quality quartz movement from a reputable Swiss manufacturer. It seems to keep pretty good time. The day after I received it I noticed it had lost 5 seconds compared to a clock that is automatically synced to NIST servers. Since then however it hasn't lost or gained anything significant. It's still 5 seconds off so maybe there was an issue when I set it that isn't related to the movement.A couple nice features with this movement are that you can adjust the date without stopping the time and if you're planning on not wearing the watch for an extended period of time you can reduce battery consumption by up to 70% by unscrewing the crown and pulling it out. There is something odd that can be noticed with the second hand. The small tick marks around the dial may be slightly off. On the right side of the dial, from the 12 to 6 o'clock positions, the second hand lines up fairly well with these markings. On the left side of the watch, from about 7 to 12 positions, the seconds hand doesn't line up well with these markings. The second hand stops obviously between the markings and not on them. This happens when the watch is being held vertically with the 12 o'clock position pointing up and the 6 pointing down. If the watch is turned upside down the variance is reversed. If the watch is laying flat on a table both sides are fine. Gravity appears to affect this. It's hard for me to tell if the issue is with the movement slipping a little due to gravity or if the seconds hand might be too heavy or if there is some issue with the attachment of the seconds hand to the movement. This doesn't appear to be an issue with the minutes hand. It's a fairly minor flaw that most people won't notice unless they pay attention. The quality of the construction and materials seems very good. The case is big and heavy and the bracelet is equally nice. It was easy for me to remove links from the bracelet to size it.The deployment clasp is very nice. As well as having a safety it is also a push-button latch. This feature was not mentioned in the product description but it's important to note. Maybe things have changed but in the past I recall many affordable priced watches I've seen did not have a push button clasp. The clasp functions well and feels very secure. I don't worry about it accidentally unlatching. The screw down crown is a must for any watch that has such a high water resistance rating. It works fine but I'm not a diver and won't be testing how deep it can go. The only time my watches really get wet is when I'm washing my hands or out in the rain. The rotating bezel is easy to operate and no noticeable play in it. It clicks at every half minute increment. The lume on the markings and hands is not all that great and the glow fades rather quickly. For the money, it's a nice watch if you like the styling. I got it when the price was further reduced as a Daily Deal and I feel I got a lot for my money. Stuhrling's MSRP for their watches is over inflated. They explain why on their website but I still feel it's a gimmick to make the watch seem more than it is. Same goes for the big box the watch comes in. Completely unnecessary. A regular sized box would save money not only in materials but also in storage and shipping. I think a lot of people hang on to their watch boxes for various reasons, this box wastes too much space. This is a good quality watch in it's price point. It's nothing to be ashamed of and there's no reason to try and make it out to be more than it is with a bigger MSRP and box. It cheapens the watch in my view.

Excelente reloj.

Amazing water-proof watch
Love this watch! A little chunkier than I expected (from looking at pictures) but that, for me, was a pleasant surprise. The quality is excellent/standard as I would expect from this brand.I bought this watch to swim with. There is a clock at the pool but I'm very short-sighted. Water-resistance was a must. I looked for a reasonably priced watch that i can swim with and then be comfortable to go to work with. I can confirm that the watch is perfect in both respects. 6 hour-sessions over a period of 3 weeks of swimming and no change in satisfaction - still won't test-wear it in a warm/hot shower - but that's my own insecurities - I'm sure it would be fine. The white numbering and hands, on black background, is easily readable even in low light. Looks great on the wrist - nice professional watch if that's what you're going for.Functionally - keeps perfect time (shouldn't expect less), date feature is good but to be honest i didn't need it - was specifically looking for a watch without a magnifier on the date. Screw mechanism is robust and designed to keep water out.Overall very happy with the watch - will update this review the very day I see condensation on the inside of the glass - hopefully never.
