Ceylon cinnamon is safe cinnamon for your health.
This is true Ceylon cinnamon, which has a milder taste and scent than Cassia. Until recently, I had no idea that there are two spices sold as cinnamon - cassia and true Ceylon cinnamon from Sri Lanka. The spice used and sold as cinnamon in the USA is Cassia. Although cassia tastes and smells better, I will be using true Ceylon cinnamon from now on for the following reason. My recent lab work revealed decreased kidney function, so I did research to find out what could cause a low GFR. That is when I discovered there are two types of cinnamon and that just 1 teaspoon of cassia (the cinnamon sold in the USA) can cause damage to your liver and kidneys. I had been taking 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of cinnamon (cassia) a day as a health supplement for about a month. I immediarely threw out all my cinnamon purchased in the USA and ordered this true Ceylon cinnamon from Sri Lanka. I have an appointment in a couple of weeks for another kidney function test, so I will soon know if discontinuing cassia makes a difference. Regardless of the results, I will be using only Ceylon cinnamon from now on. The ways you can know the difference: 1. A stick of Ceylon cinnamon can easily be broken in two, whereas cassia is as hard as a rock. 2. On the end view of the cinnamon stick, Ceylon cinnamon appears layered (like a stack of crepe paper) and rolled; cassia looks like a scroll. 3. Ceylon cinnamon is tan; cassia is reddish brown. 4. Ceylon cinnamon has a mild fragrance and taste; cassia has a strong fragrance and taste. 5. Ceylon cinnamon comes from Sri Lanka (possibly south India); cinnamon grown anywhere else is cassia. 6. Ceylon cinnamon is MUCH more expensive than cassia.

Best tasting Ceylon Cinnamon!
I have tried all sorts of Ceylon cinnamon and this one truly tastes amazing! I boiled it in hot water for health benefits and it comes out so nice and sweet. It is similar tasting to Cassia, which is a good thing, because Cassia tastes good but is very unhealthy for you. This one has a robust flavor but is the real deal! So glad I purchased :)

My go to for cinnamon-delicious!
I much prefer the taste of this which is slightly sweeter and more delicate than standard cinnamon which is derived from Cassia. This is the real thing. I cannot stand an overly strong smell of cinnamon that overpowers other spices and Asian cooking and the like. Great in apple cider and I ground some up perfectly for cinnamon rolls. My grandmother's recipe… And she always used Ceylon cinnamon. Her secret recipe. I get the same raves from her cinnamon buns as she did!

Would buy again
Great price. Milder flavor than I hoped. Have to use two sticks to get a stronger cinnamon flavor.

Taste good!
Not as strong smell and taste as the cinnamon Americans are used to but still very delicious. I use this ceylon cinnamon for culinary benefits and the cassia cinnamon for all non ingestible uses.

Great Quality! For PCOS and Diabetes.
Finally came in mail! I struggle with PCOS and my mother with Diabetes which both consist of insulin resistance. Drinking Cinnamon tea does straight up wonders for us! Went with Ceylon because we knew the cassia one isn’t great too much. I love as skeptical cuz of some reviews but product is great! My tea can out dark(2 sticks for 2 servings I used could’ve gone with 1 stick tho) as you can see in picture. I saw some posts said it was light color, PRO TIP is to break up the bark lol otherwise the water isn’t going to absorb as much(refer to pic). The taste was pretty sweet as well moreso to me than cassia. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

The real deal
Very Impressed! This is the real deal cinnamon sticks. If you have the other fake kind that is deep reddish brown and strong in scent, get rid of them and buy these. Upon opening the package of these there is zero cinnamon smell. They also don't taste like anything if you give one a lick. But if you bite a piece of and start chewing it....WOW! it is an explosion of that cinnamon taste you love without being over powering. It's more of a smooth mellow and spicy flavor. Definitely a difference from the fake kind. These ones get soft quick when soaked in hot water, like for tea and add great flavor. The flavor is IN the bark, not sprinkled on manufactured rolled up pieces of "bark" like the fake kind. Highly recommend

Don’t buy!
This has absolutely not scent or flavor AT ALL!! And I don’t mean it has a slight scent or flavor. I mean NONE! First, they looked colorless and old in the bag. Once I opened the bag, I knew something was wrong because I smelled nothing. Thought maybe it was just too slight for my nose to pick up, so I asked both my kids and they agreed it had absolutely no scent. I thought maybe I needed to soak it in something warm/hot for a bit to get the flavor out, so I tried soaking it in my cup of hot cocoa and still nothing! Had my kids taste as well and none of us tasted even a hint of cinnamon. Would definitely have returned but it’s not returnable, so just lost $ on these unusable and disappointing sticks. Now I have to go and spend more money to buy different ones as I need cinnamon sticks for my hot apple cider recipe for the holidays.
