Nothing else like it
My take on VR is that it's a bit like a new frontier, in that sense a bit rough around the edges so my expectations were fairly grounded. My biggest concern with buying this headset was reading the Pimax forums but the reality was this:1)I got the headset in the time as advertised2)I got the wrong plug but got a replacement in less than a week3) I had a horizontal visual "split" that the support team were very keen to address and fixed remotely quicklyFor me the mark of a great company is one that supports you well when things don't quite go according to plan. Pimax are innovating and working on improving their support all of the time and as a result I will be buying the hopefully soon to be released base stations and sword controllers. That's the service anxieties out the way what about the headset? Well as my first headset I have no reference point to compare it against but nothing else come close in terms of FoV which was the key selling point. The nose support isn't great but not awful and something Pimax are working on.Currently playing a few racing Sims and the immersion is fantastic, I just need to work on the motion sickness lol

Pimax was initially not compatible with my RX 5700 XT, but they fixed it!
I put a ticket in requesting that pimax fix the initialization issue on the RX 5700 XT last month to the day, and they have now fixed all compatibility issues with the headset and the GPU.Absolutely amazing thank you pimax for fixing this issue on the top of your list!Played a few games and they seem to be working!Headset resolution and FOV are amazing but you need to set it up right in steamvr! crank the per eye resolution and FOV up.By rule of thumb for good looking fonts use as much as your computer can handle, I am using about 4k per eye even though my headset is the 5k plus, this makes fonts look crisp because the view data is available from all angles.10/10

FOV and Resolution Outstanding.
I just play DCS, and have graduated from a Rift CV1. Was waiting for the HP Reverb, but decided to get the Pimax 5Kplus instead. I made the right choice. The FOV on just "Normal", is mind blowing. The resolution second to none.I only have one issue. It’s trying to find the best setup with Pitool, DCS settings, Steam VR, and Nvidia control panel. They seem to conflict with each other, and it’s challenging trying to decide what should take priority with MSAA, PD, AA, Vertical Sync, etc.The above is no fault of Pimax. Straight out of the box, this headset is a quantum leap forward in user experience. This headset may seem expensive, but, in life, you get what you pay for. The price premium is well worth the gains in FOV and resolution. I am a very happy customer.

Expensive but no regrets. Works well with DCS. Gives track IR like functionality without basestations, as well as 3d VR.

Cost to much
I expected more from this considering the cost but it’s not much better than my oculus rift buy rift and save money

Amazing FOV and resolution, but the overall experience is not as polished as the competition.
I've been using my Pimax 5k+ for a few months now, previously I was using an HTC Vive. I'm fairly new to VR, only purchased the Vive shortly before, mainly to get the trackers and controllers as they don't come with this headset. So far I've mainly been playing Beat Sabre, The Lab, and Rec Room.Initial impressions;Coming from the Vive the wider field of view and reduction in screen door effect were very noticeable. However, it felt like there was a smaller sweet spot where all the image was crisp. When I first put on the pimax 5k+ the distortion was prominent near the edges of the lenses (even on normal FOV), this has been reduced greatly by doubling the foam thickness. Getting the tilt of the goggles and the vertical position on my face right was challenging but the image is great when I get it right. My hardware and performance;I'm running an RTX 2060 with a Ryzen 5 3600 and 32 GB RAM. I've been playing around with various pixel multiplier settings but not quite figured out what works best. I seem to be able to the games to run pretty solidly without any reprojected frames at normal FOV but I need to look into this more. Some games require reducing the resolution or other graphics settings a bit but generally my PC handle it.Image quality and experience; In some games the wider FOV was really helpful, such as Xortex in The Lab. In others it was easy to forget that you could see more than with a Vive. It's great not to have the god-rays that were present in the Vive, but I feel like there is some other kind of effect going making me aware of the lenses that I don't notice on the vive. Maybe a reflection of the light hitting around my eyes, I'm not sure.Software;I had some issues getting going, but it also took me hours to get my Vive working properly so I don't judge Pimax to harshly for this. The software, Pitool, is not as mature as some of the competitors but it has been steadily improving, and I think it is acceptable for someone who is good with computers now.ConclusionThe resolution and FOV of the 5k+ are definite upgrades on previous gen VR headsets, however the ergonomics out of the box were terrible for me. It took a fair bit of experimenting with extra foam padding and very careful positioning on my face for the image to look right. If I can crack these positioning issues I think this will be a fantastic headset. Perhaps I need a strap upgrade.

Best Headset out there right now
I have a HTC vive and have used other headsets. This one is by far the best in terms of the overall experience. The increased FOV is fantastic and the games look much better with the higher resolution. The software is very good. It took a few updates after launch, but it has great smoothing and even very demanding games run very well for me on a 1080ti i7 7700 core pc.I'm only giving 4* as its not the most comfortable headset out of the box. I modded it with an extra foam cover and the HTC vive deluxe head strap. This has made it a 5* product for me. But it should really come like that to blow the competition away. It could also be tougher. I chipped mine after dropping it, but it still works 100% so that's a plus i guess.
