ALPINE INTERNATIONALALPINE Hand made genuine vintage full grain leather watch strap with quick release spring bars - Black, Bown, Tan - 20 mm, 22 mm, 24 mm

I bought two of these, the one in the photies is the blue and, as seen, is a great match for the blue face and bezel on the watch fitted with the strap.I've also bought the brown strap, mostly because I have lots of pieces with a 20mm yoke width, but also because the brown one looks pretty decent on the same watch. [The brown strap] also works well on at least three other 20mm pieces.The quality is excellent, I have bought a couple of other Alpine straps before now, yet I was still delighted to see that, if anything, the quality on these ones is even better which suggests that the manufacturer is aiming somewhat upmarket now, and they're succeeding. I couldn't resist trying the blue one (pictured above) for its resistance to water as this was a main reason for my choosing these straps.I needn't have worried as both straps fend off water, even when there's a bit of hand-wash residue in the said water, perfectly.Any water that lands on the straps beads up immediately, just like the rain on the paintwork of a freshly waxed car. The straps were dried off with gentle use of a hand towel, which proved that neither strap had absorbed any water, not even along the potentially vulnerable edges where the leather is sealed. This can be a weak spot in lesser straps but these remained dry and didn't subsequently ooze water or leave their dye on my skin.Definitely suitable to be used with a dive watch, I have to recommend these thick, beautifully crafted straps for their superb quality, their pleasing appearance and also for the way in which these straps feel soft on the skin, very comfortable in fact, even after only around 36 hours of wearing - roughly half of that time with each colour - the straps felt lovely.Sum up:Aesthetically pleasing, manufactured to a very high quality, comfortable and genuinely capable of withstanding immersion in a basin of lukewarm water, even though that water contained trace amounts of handwash.Also excellent value for money. There are cheaper straps out there, but not at this level of quality, in my experience. Those budget brands might be fine on lighter watches than the heavy beast in my photies, but these Alpine straps would be as much at home on a watch worth tens of thousands of Pounds as they are on my budget oriented timepiece seen modelling the blue strap today.Don't buy cheap, if you do you'll buy again and end up spending more of your hard earned currency. Equally, many far more costly straps don't cut the mustard either, buy Alpine, you won't regret doing so.Cheers,Jaye ××

I'm giving this Alpine racing strap 4 stars for a reason I'll explain at the end.I bought the 20mm and it's true to size, fits perfectly on my Seiko 5. It looks and feels like genuine leather and all made from one piece rather than layers compressed together.This strap is extremely soft and will wear comfortably from the off and it's a decent thickness.I would have given this 5 stars but because it's so soft the buckle holes stretch quickly and I find that after only a few days the watch went from fitting snuggly to having a bit of play on the wrist. It's not a massive issue and won't put me off buying another at some point but it's worth mentioning.

Despite being stamped as 'GENUINE LEATHER' the strap feels more like silicone than leather.

Juste acheté un bracelet esthétiquement très proche, cuir marron, trous, 2mm d'épaisseur mais...pas satisfait, confortable mais pas trop, montre difficile à ajuster, qui tourne un peu ou qui serre un peu, boitier qui remonte pas beaucoup mais un peu côté main. 12€, pas cher...Pour à peine le double, ce bracelet respire la qualité, bon cuir épais (3mm) mais très souple, et qui adhère gentiment, boucle acier simple et propre, boitier montre parfaitement posé à plat sur le poignet. Très très content. Parfois, on en a pour son argent.-----------Au bout de quelques jours, le bracelet s'adapte parfaitement. Il est vraiment superbe :)
