Velcro rubbed the back heel raw - no support from the material.
The material is a thin polyurethane and does not provide any support. It also does not breathe. We didn't find that this helped to stabilize his leg much and have on order, a medical grade brace. Our dog developed a raw spot above the heel from the rough side of the velcro rubbing his skin where the material did not overlap after a long walk. Within 18 hours, the hot spot developed into a severe infection requiring an emergency trip to the ER vet and follow-up care.Helpful hints to those who buy this:1. Keep it on for only a few hours at a time.2. If the lining material does not fully wrap around the leg exposing any part of the leg to the Velcro, cut the end off of a child's sock and slip in on under the brace.3. If the dog gets wet or walks thru mud, remove, clean and dry the leg and the brace.4. Do not keep this on overnight.5. It does not keep the dog's hock dry6. If it is too loose, it won't help.We threw it away since we were not going to put this back on our dog.

It is a nice light material
Due to my girl's injury it didn't offer the support I thought it might. It took a bit to figure out how to put it on as it doesn't come with instructions, but I did find some videos on You-Tube. It is a nice light material, I and would recommend trying it if your pet doesn't need super support, as depending on your dog's needs it may be just right. I was hoping it would work as I didn't want to get something more cumbersome for her. My girl broke her leg 6 years ago and as she nears old age the leg turns out and she can slip. My hope had been this would offer enough support to keep her leg a bit straighter, but it was just too thin and not padded enough for her specific needs. It was worth giving a try and if her injury had been different maybe it would have worked well as it seem like a well made product.

Instant relief!
I couldn't be happier with this product. First, quality material with quality stitching. Second, the fit is excellent based on the sizing. Third and most important, is the obvious signs of relief my dog got from this. His gait, spirits, movement are all back to being where they were before. I spent a heaping amount at the vet to be told "it could be this...." and "perhaps surgery.....". I know this may not be a permanent fix, but when your dog has hurt him or herself and three vets are scratching their heads this neoprene godsend is a most welcome addition.

Best hock brace out there
My cat injured his hock. He's about 12 lbs., was 17 lbs. before he got older, so he's a big boy. This barely fits tight enough. He wore it for about 15 hours and ditched it. The product is excellent. It's durable and feather light. Well made. If I needed this for my dog, this is what I would buy, hands down.

Easy to put on and take off, doesn't seem to annoy dog.
Easy to put on you dog for support. Doesn't chafe are squeeze too much. Got this for my friend's arthritic golden retriever, and she took to it quickly. Dog is more sure footed on stairs to go outside.

Aries story
This product has helped my Cane Corso tremendously! He has torn ligaments in back legs from an injury sustained when he was just a puppy. Poor guy's back legs would give out and he would throw his back out, he has been on muscle relaxers and prednisone for about 6 months. We are now weaning him off the steroids and thanks to the Kruuse Rehab Hock protectors he no longer needs the harsh medication😀. Thanks for the wonderful gift of having my Dog back, he can now run around and be a puppy again.

This product has worked great, two weeks without his cone on and he ...
Our dog has a spot on his back leg that he will not leave alone (licking until it bleeds)(3 years). We have tried everything (spray, cone, pants) and he keeps getting to it. This product has worked great, two weeks without his cone on and he has not licked his leg, it is actually healing.

Improved Dog quality of Life
Our dog has a weak hock which has been operated on to repair a fracture and torn ligaments. this can cause her to hobble on three legs if she jumps on a hard surface. We asked our vet about a hock protector after seeing dogs wearing them at Cruffs but they did not have a lot of knowlage of them though offered to source one, I got this one of the internet at a fraction of the cost they quoted and it has helped her a lot, She still gets some pain and limps for a short time but soon improves.Very easy to fit before a run For the price you don't have a lot to lose giving it a try.

Helps my old boy
It was a good while ago that I bought two of these and they have served my dog well. He wears similar on the front two as well, daily. ....but now he needs the next support up.. with removable splints on one of his back legs. They are costly, but if they ease the discomfort, then so be it.
