A Good Watch - With Caveats
First, I will discuss the great points about this watch, then give you my nitpicks. The watch is incredibly attractive, nice in size and easy to read. So far, it's gaining 17spd, which is reasonable. This is a big watch, but not comically big like many of the watches currently on the market. I consider the 'sweet' spot of size today to be between 42 and 46mm, but I'm a big guy so that's a bit subjective. What probably isn't subjective is the next couple of observations: There is absolutely no lume. -Not a speck. So, if you're planning to check the time in a theater, better bring a flashlight. It's a bit comical if you think about it because they call this a 'pilot' watch but the reality is that luminous hands are must-haves for a pilot, diver or a military spec watch. Of course, the name 'pilot watch' is as much about the fashion as it is about the functionality but never-the-less, you need to be aware that this watch is unreadable in a dark environment without supplemental light or the eyes of an owl. The second thing (the one that really gets my goat) is that the strap is a PITA. It's so think and stiff that it's super hard to strap it on or take it off. In fact, the second time I wore it, it took me five minutes to unbuckle the strap. I was so frustrated that I was seconds away from cutting the strap in order to get the watch off of my wrist. I'm keeping the watch because it's still a great time keeper but I won't even consider wearing it until I replace the comically thick leather strap. Your results may vary.
