PART 1 of a two book series. For ease of use, the full course work for AP Biology has been published as two companion titles. AP Biology 2 is the companion to this title. CONTENTS of this Book: Essential Skills for AP Biology Biochemistry and Cell Biology: The Biochemistry of Life Cell Structure and Processes Cellular Communication Genetics: DNA and RNA Chromosomes and Cell Division The Chromosomal Basis of Inheritance Regulation of Gene Expression Sources of Variation Evolution: Genetic Change in Populations Evidence for Biological Evolution The Relatedness of Organisms Speciation and Extinction The Origin of Living Systems Chapter introductions provide a summary of required knowledge, encapsulating the Essential Knowledge of the AP curriculum framework (2015) and matched point for point. A Key Idea introduces each activity, providing a clear focus and take-home message for the student. New activities to support student-led inquiry and a larger number of activities involving data analysis and modeling. New case studies and required illustrative examples. New easy-to-use coding for weblinks, content and concept connections, and science practices: Science Practices are well supported through integrated activities in both volumes. Concept and Content Connections codes enable students to make important connections across the entire program. New content to support the 13 required practicals. Both volumes include content adjustments and updates in light of the latest (2015) review of the framework and in keeping with the dynamic nature of science. Review activities at the end of each chapter enable students to test their understanding and are ideal as formative assessment tasks. Synoptic activities suitable as summative assessments conclude each section of work. Review: Wonderful!!! - I love the Biozone books!!! They are very illustrative, educating, and make you want to hold and read the book as often as possible. Although not all the AP Biology material that you need to know for the exam is extensively covered in the book, there are many specific biological examples of important concepts that aren't taught in class, simply because there are so many of them. This book is a great guide to getting the grade you want on the AP Exam. Make sure that you write the answers and then compare them with those in the Model Answers book. This is the most efficient way you can prepare yourself for the exam. Review: Loved it. You will not regret buying. - Loved it. You will not regret buying if you are looking for a resource that will ease your undertanding of AP Biology topics with only few paragraphs of information. Graphics are great.

Nice
The book is very helpful, it cover almost every points in my AP bio test; but the space is not enough for me to write down my answer.

Interesting read, but not good test prep
Very good book for a College bio class, but not AP Bio! I’d say there were probably 100 pgs (1/3 of the book) that were very loosely tied to the AP bio curriculum. Very interesting reads, but not good in terms of review material for the final test. If you want a proper review book covering just AP Bio’s curriculum, buy the latest Barron’s, 5 Steps to a 5, or Princeton Review book. This book threw tangents left and right. A majority of the diagrams show the full names of the proteins and enzymes involved in the process. In the AP Bio curriculum, there’s only probably ~30 enzymes you need to recognize, but this book threw more than ~100 names of proteins + names of cell parts and processes that you’d probably only need on a college final. An example is how on the page that’s supposed to teach you about cell walls, it mentions peotidoglycan and lipoteichoic acid! Trust me, those two terms are not in the AP curriculum!
