Raiden V: Director's Cut Limited Edition - Nintendo Switch

So far I only had time to play for a few hours but I liked what I encountered. I haven't played a Raiden game since The Raiden Project on ps1 but to my excitement I noticed some Touhou elements in here! While no bullet hell on normal, I saw that if you stop shooting for a bit all the score bits all fly into your ship for easier collection. Lol, I kept trying to go to the top of the screen to do this before :) The same happens in single player with the Weapon Powerup too. Stop shooting at the color of your choice and it comes to your for easier collection while dodging bullets. Speaking of which, the enemy bullets come fast and are somewhat hard to see because of their color. This is even more so in handheld mode but not a deal breaker for me if I just focus on the bullets and the direction they came from. The graphics could be a higher resolution than what I see as the background and ships are a little jagged and low resolution. No TATE/Vertical mode for some reason; maybe they can patch this in the future?? So the fun-factor is quite high! Shooting, dodging and game-play is quite pleasing and so are the audio of the shots and booms. There are options to play as hard or easy as you wish so pick what you will. If this wasn't a limited print run I'd still buy it. And if you can find it for cheaper, even better! Happy flying pilots!

solid game, not quite worth the price

Raiden is back! I used to play the original in the arcade and have played and bought every Raiden game I could since then, even on multiple platforms. I had this for the PS4 but instantly preordered it when I saw it was coming to the Switch. The game is just as fun as the previous installments. There is a lot of chatting going on in the game that you can't even hear. Even if you could hear it you would be too concentrated on dodging bullets coming at you from every angle. The game is tough but fair. Even if you're new to the shooter genre I believe you can get far with some practice.Must have game for the Switch!

The game is a cookie cutter installment of the Raiden series, which is exactly what I expected and wanted. But, the Switch Tax is way too high. This game is $10 on PS4 but, $40 on Switch. It's just not worth it on Switch. The graphics are decent, the action is fast paced, the story is meaningless nonsense (as it should be), and controls are simple and accurate. It hits all the numbers except price. If you can find it used (for < $20), go for it.

So, not many Switch games appeal to me and therefore I only have a handful. That said, the physical version of Raiden V is the one to buy since it's going to be *one-print limited* AND you get goodies with it (a soundtrack mini CD and an art book). With this in mind, I bought this and beat it in about a day and a half thanks to unlimited continues on Normal mode. Wish they were limited though. However, with multiple ships to try, multiple weapon systems, and several more Difficulty levels to choose from, I see potential for an abundance of replayability, as well as online co-op but I haven't done that yet. Pleased with my purchase nonetheless!

I love rare games. OMG, yes! One printing--finally a rare game on Switch that I can get behind!I have the PS4 version sealed as well--and now I have the Switch version! Comes with mini-soundtrack sampler disc too!OMG YES! RARITY HERE FOLKS!

Excelente sensación arcade

Coming from Tyrian on PC this game doesn’t impress me despite being much much newer , 24 years newer to be exact. If you like Japanese top down shooters you’ll likely enjoy Raiden, it’s definitely not for everyone. I feel really annoyed by the constant ingame chatter which tries really hard to convince players that something really important is happening, but you can’t even make it out because that darn cheesy Japanese music is blasting in the background.

Good graphics and runs well but not much has changed gameplay wise

買う前に評価１のレビューを読んだら、この商品ではなく、日本のダウンロード版。これは海外版なので違うレビューは書かないでほしい。しかし、確かに字は小さいので老眼の人には辛いだろう。しかし問題なく読めるし内容も楽しい。コンティニューできるので下手な人でもクリアできる。海外版だが、日本語音声、日本語字幕で楽しめる。さらに音楽CDもついているし、説明書大の大きさのフルカラーガイドブックがついている。お得だしオススメだ。
