Teavana Black Dragon Pearl Tea, 2oz

As someone who is relatively new to loose leaf I was not sure what to expect but This is an excellent tea, each pearl is hand rolled as described and are very neat looking. the company shipped my order to me in the half the time that amazon said and it came in a small resealable bag with instructions on the back for making different teas. The leaves are good for at least 2 steepings and make a dark red liquor that is earthy and sweet on its own. I always add sugar to my tea but not a whole lot is needed for this particular product. If oversteeped, There will be some bitterness but when you mix it with sugar it will create a taste similar to that of dates or raisins. 2-3 pearls will make a large coffee mug full and 1 pearl will make a small mug full. If you're looking at this tea when it is at its regular price thats fine, its well worth it. However, I bought mine at $7.59 and a few weeks later (the time of this review) it is $4.00. so if you're a little tight on the budget be a good capitalist and keep an eye on the prices and shoot for it when you feel its at a price which best suits you.

I remember when Teavana used to be open , I would pay for the black dragon , had a rich flavor and the taste was soo smooth. I’m glad they still have it around to purchase as it seem harder and harder to find now that shut down. I will say the price is Steep , but worth it for me as I love this tea and well used to it

I ordered these in my quest for the best cup of tea. While these do make an amazing and flavorful cup of tea they can be difficult to brew. In my quest I've also searched for the best infuser as well, but that's for another set of reviews.These little pearls, when put in an infuser take a long time to steep and often seem to not loosen up enough. For me, at least, by the time I felt they made an appropriate strength of tea the water was lukewarm at best.I've tried many different styles and nothing works for me. So, while the tea is good, I only give the four stars for the brew time.

I started with the Teavana black dragon pearls 15 years ago. It was my go to tea. I am not a coffee drinker so my taste buds are not polluted. The description of the flavors was accurate. This batch did not have that strong malt flavor. It was disappointing. The tea was not good but just not the flavor I am craving. The cost was not worth it.

I drink a lot of tea, and let me tell you this black tea is just so excellent! It's is very smooth, with just hints of a coco/maltness. Don't let the price scare you off. As with all things in life you get what you pay for. And with this tea you know you got your moneys worth. Also of note was the shipping. It shipped out super fast I believe the same day, and came UPS. But I was never given a tracking #. I'm sure you can just email them for one if you like. The packaging was also 1st class, with a free sample of another tea and a very nice catalog. Over all I could not be happier about ordering this tea, and will buy more as soon as I run out.

The size of the of he pearls was smaller and therefor the leaves much smaller than my previous purchases so I will try another distributor

This was my favorite black tea for a long time. I used to buy it directly at a Teavana store at a local mall. I tried ordering this product from Amazon and even though the expiration date was far in the future, the tea does not brew well and seems stale.Other than an old shipment this tea has a full body, hints of chocolate and a great flavor. You only need a couple of these little balls to brew a great cup of tea. Highly recommended if fresh :)

Purchased as a gift. I wish the teas came in nicer wrapping, they come in pouches, but overall we're happy with it.
