Excellent Bach Product
I took a chance on this product as I was getting low on my chapstick looking grease tube that came with my beginner trumpet. (Muslady) I am glad I purchased this product. I used it for the first time yesterday and noticed that I used very little ( literally a drop) to do all slides. This may last me more a year or more, even if I apply twice a month. No residue left, like the the one I was using. After applying, all my slides move so much smoother, even on this off brand trumpet. I have also applied to my Yamaha 2335 trumpet, bought at a pawn shop. Again, excellent results. Too bad this product doesn't magically make me a better trumpet player. ( or will it?)

Use this product! Bach slide gel.
Excellent slide lubricant. Applied to all of my several tuba sldes, and they’re all working smoothly, yet they stay in place as they are adjusted. The product comes in a squeeze bottle labeled “gel” which is more accurate than the description I saw when I ordered it, which said slide “grease”. It’s easy to apply and a couple of dabs (not drops) are adequate for each slide tube. This will last me a long time.

Better grease, better bottle.
Really Good Grease. Used to use another brand, but the plastic bottle always got brittle and cracked before I could use it all. Makes a heck of a mess in an expensive trumpet case. Saw the Bach Grease and tried it. Wow. You can almost use my tuning slides like trombone slides now. This stuff seems cleaner and the excess wipes off easily. I checked the plastic makeup of the bottle and can say the material is much better. That means the bottle ought to match the contents in longevity. I've owned a Bach trumpet for decades, but I never saw this product before...I assume it's new? I really like it.

Favorite slide grease for over three decades!
I am a professional trumpet player. I have played trumpet for over 40 years and have also been teaching for decades. I’m very pleased that my 15-year-old son is now also a trumpet player. I bought the slide grease for him as a stocking stuffer. It’s always been my preferred grease for non-kick slides (tuning slide, second valve slide). It’s nice and thick and does not need to be reapplied between cleanings. (Well, I guess that depends on how often you clean your trumpet! I try to do mine about once a month. ) Since it’s very thick, It could work well on Kikick k slides, but I usually add a little bit of valve oil to dilute.

Good Grease, but Not the Best
Overall, very good product. It does its job and keeps my slides very well greased and moving. Although, I'm not quite sure I would recommend using this product long term. The grease is good when the inside of the slides are greased up and warm, pretty quiet. But when you clean the tuning slides to prevent buildup or just to clean them periodically, putting on new slide grease and putting it back in--there's a grit. Maybe it's my fault for not getting the dust, but I would expect the grease to just grease and move past the particles. I used the grease on multiple tubas and I get that everytime. Either way, good product, just not sure I would use it for years on end.

Best slide lube over everything else on the market.
As a French Horn and Trumpet player for over 30 years, this is the ONLY slide lube that I use, and I own and have tried probably 5 other slide greases, from OEM Yamaha to Monster and others. This stuff is amazing and I'm really glad they still make it.

Not heat, water or oil soluble!
This is the best product for valve slides! (Horn player for over 40 years) Lanolin and Cremes will melt, mix with water/oil and run into the valves. This solution does not melt at body temperature. This solution does not mix with water or dissolve with valve oil. My only criticism would be that the grease is too thick for the small nozzle provided - easily fixed with a small drill bit or a hot nail. You will also need a very hot, soapy bath to thoroughly clean your instrument. These problems are trivial in exchange for fast valves.
