Operated correctly, but didn't work for my purpose.
Bought this to mix my liquid airbrush makeup. Was tired of endless manual shaking to have a poorly mixed, stratified product. As a test, I brought a bottle of my makeup to work and vortexed it using a Fisher Scientific Vortex Genie 2, set at about 80% of max (unit is variable speed 600-3200 rpm). That worked like a charm! In about three seconds flat it was a lovely homogeneous blend, more so than I had ever achieved manually, so I purchased this unit to enjoy well blended makeup in the comfort of my own home. Was soooo excited to received it. Was crushed to find that although the unit appeared to operate correctly, it did zero, zilch, squat to mix the makeup. Cue the sad trombone. No clue what was different between this unit and the one I tested in the lab. Unit is simple enough and straightforward enough that operator error seems pretty far fetched, and the listed rpms are comparable. I am glad that I decided to pay a few bucks more for this "Fulfilled by Amazon" unit, because it is a straightforward return. Try it. Might work for your application, even though it didn't work for mine.
