Cap Barbell Dumbbell and Kettlebell Storage Rack

I'll admit this took a little longer to put together than I anticipated. An allen wrench is supplied but you will also need an adjustable wrench. If you wait to fully tighten the screws on the bottom brackets until you have it all together you can line up the two pieces so there is absolutely no instability if this is a concern. I didn't do this, and but its still just great. With the weights it has plenty of stability. Love the Gym-like sturdiness and compact storage solution. Love the shelf area for kettle weights which will also hold smaller hand weights that don't fit the side brackets. It was perfect for my compact work out area/laundry room and I think its a bargain.

I was nervous about assembly after reading reviews, but it is SO easy. One bolt and washer one one side, one nut and washer on the other side. Assembly will go MUCH faster if you have a ratchet and 1/2” bit. The hex key that comes with it is nice and heavy. Took about 30 minutes. We moved and my temporary gym is in our office for now. My big weight rack doesn’t fit in the office, so I just keep my most used ones on this new rack. I’m trading my 15lb neoprene dumbbells in for rubber capped ones because as most people stated, neoprene weights to not fit well. All in all pleased with the stand as a solution to keep the dumbbells off the floor while we plan out our new garage gym and I can have all my weights in one place again! One the side of the rack I have 25s, 20s, 15s, 12s. On the bottom shelf 5s and 10s. No wobble, very sturdy little holder. Will use the top to hold my water.

I was hoping this would go on sale during Prime Days but alas it did not as there were several cheaper model product available. I opted for this one as it looked as built better and it is. Made with good solid parts, not terribly hard to install. My complaint is that the rubber trim strips do not stay on the bottom or top well and needed adhesive (3M Black Weather Strip Adhesive). Also as a tip: do not tighten down all the way until completely assembled as you will have an unlevel rack. Put weights on bottom to stabilize then use a level and tighten incrementally. Otherwise worth the price over the cheap models available. It could use a mobile base but a pretty nice product overall.

I bought this Oct 15 2023. It arrived next day and I assembled it right away. It took 75 minutes working by myself at my basement workbench. Assembly by one person isn’t hard just time consuming. I used a half inch socket wrench together with the supplied Allen wrench. The pictures in instruction sheet were more than sufficient to guide me. One nut had damaged threads but I had extras in my workshop. This item is very solid. Good paint job. It is perfect for what I needed - enough holders for my large metal dumbells plus shelf space for other items. Note the 10 pound rubber coated dumbbell barely fits - this is made for the large metal ones. It sits solid on the floor but a toddler could possibly pull it over so know this if you have small children. I didn’t use the included rubber edging because it sits on carpet on bottom, and the top really doesn’t need it. I recommend this item.

None of our dumbells fit on the rack. The bar/grip of every weight was too short for the spacing of the rack. It's not something I would have ever thought to check. It seems sturdy enough otherwise, but about as useful as any random shelf would be since that's the place to put the dumbells. For $70, it's not worth keeping to use as a shelf.

This stand holds up to 4 sets of weights which is pretty much all most will need for overall home workouts. The assembly wasn’t bad, this is coming from me... someone who has literally only put two things together in my life and this was the second (shame) it took me 45 minutes so it will probably take you 20 minutes. It was missing two washers and two nuts which I’m working with CAP to get but it’s been a great experience thus far (you can see the missing on in the picture) I also purchased these beautiful CAP weights during this pandemic which was an adventure in and of itself but well worth it to have this colorful bliss!!! Highly recommend this for those of you looking to set up a mini home gym!!! The hardest of these weights to find is the blue but it can be done if you look and connect with sellers who locate the pink, orange and green! Happy mama here!!!!

Pictures show 2 x Amazon Basics 30# dumbbells, 2 x Ignite 15# dumbbells, 53# Rogue kettlebell, 20# GoRuck plate, Rogue jump rope pouch, and yoga blocks. Fits dumbbells with 5” or larger handle (measured between heads). Two yoga blocks OR a Rogue jump rope bag fit neatly in the top compartment. 20# GoRuck plate lays on top, not very graceful but you can’t have it all. I tested the 30# dumbbells on top of each other and the heads don’t touch. Bigger heads probably would. Would have been nice to have a removable rubber sheet to lay in the storage compartments so you don’t scratch the powder coat. Tricky to assemble solo unless you have three hands. Little tabs to hold it temporarily together while you tighten the bolts would have been nice. Manufacturer DOES NOT supply the ½” wrench you need, not even the cheap kind you throw away when you’re done. NO extra hardware, so don’t drop anything. Instructions do list the specific types of hardware, so if something falls off in the moving van you can get a replacement at the hardware store – unless you throw the instructions away. Feels a little flimsy when assembled, but I guess it doesn’t have to run up and down stairs. Once loaded, it seems stable. Inserts in the dumbbell sleeves are rubber not plastic, which is nice since they seem more likely to stay put. Plastic ones just fall out all the time. Total footprint with the 30# dumbbells pictured is 23”x13”.

It’s a good stand. Liked the shape and how compact it is. It stores a good amount of weights and gear. The only negative is the protective rubber strips that slip off or move around when you add or remove a weight. It doesn’t affect its core function, just a tad annoying, so still rating it a 5.
