Great non-rusting alternative to steel wool, but more expensive
I wish I'd known about bronze wool a long time ago. You can use it for many of the same things that you use steel wool for, but unlike steel wool, bronze wool is softer and less likely to scratch surfaces, and it doesn't rust. This is very important if you're trying to remove a finish from wood. If you use steel wool, the tiny steel shards can get embedded in the wood, where they can rust and discolor the wood. Since bronze wool doesn't rust, it's a great alternative to steel wool. I use it instead of steel wool to clean stainless steel pots and pans -- works great and much more pleasant to use. The only downsides are that it's much more expensive than steel wool, and harder to find in stores. Also, bronze wool doesn't come in as many grades as steel wool.

Worked great on Chrome and Stainless Steel!
I purchased this bronze wool in three coarseness levels to try to remove melted shoe rubber from the exhaust pipe on my Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The key was to remove the rubber without damaging the chrome. Since Bronze is significantly softer than Chrome/Stainless Steel, it worked perfectly. I applied some heel mark solvent to the area, then with a little elbow grease, the rubber came off, leaving a perfectly shiny surface. This product works very well and won't damage chrome or steel, so it would be perfect for cleaning stainless pots and pans, auto bumpers, or other shiny surfaces that you don't want damaged.Strongly recommend!

This stuff is great to keep mice out if you have small openings ...
This stuff is great to keep mice out if you have small openings where they can get in. We have this problem around some pipes, but we haven't seen a mouse since we stuffed this around the holes to block them. Much more pleasant way to deal with the problem than mouse traps. However, it took forever for this to be delivered - close to a month.

great product and delivery...
hello, if you need a scrubbing item that will not leave short metal pieces around to rust, this is the one to get. the bronze steel wool coarse product is made for just this purpose. it scrubs well and leaves not residue or bits around to rust. regular steel wool products do a great job of scrubbing or cleaning, but if you do not pick up all of the left over particles, they will rust with the slightest moisture and now...another problem of getting the rust off any surface. great product and delivery...

Great for pot cleaning stainless steel without scratching steel
I stupidly burned the bottom of my AllClad dutch oven while making barbeque sauce. Tried soaking, Bartender's friend, metal polish. Fine steel wool didn't work. This did and did not scratch my pan bottom, nor my steel sink, bronze being softer than steel. Will not rust like steel wool. This was a great find on recommendation by a friend of mine.

Great for removing rust pitting from chrome
Great product to remove rust on chrome parts. I use this bronze wool in all grades to remove rust and pitting on steel bike parts. The coarse is for those stubborn spots. With a little WD40, the wool does the job.Useful if you work on vintage bicycles with a lot of steel parts.

Metal Wool, and No rust
Does not rust like steel wool. I have not tried it yet, but it may work to repack my OHV muffler.
