Works incredibly well and great number of uses for the price.
To start off, I'm very new to soldering and chose to practice by replacing the switches on a mouse of mine that had gone bad (mainly because I didn't want to pay $100 to replace it) and at first I was having trouble. After some time spent learning how to properly use this kit, it helped speed up the process of removing the faulty switches. I highly suggest buying one of these Chip Quik kits, whether it be a lead-free or a normal solder kit.

This stuff is amazing but messy
You can lift a part right up, but you have to get rid of all the excess solder too

works as advertised to remove smd's
Put a little flux on the leads apply this stuff and off the device comes!

As Advertised
purchased this to help with de-soldering some defective IC U4 from a PCB on a Nextion Display. after adding the SMD Remover the device came of almost instantly.

Solder great, flux not so much
Solder melts at incredibly low temps, ideal for desoldering from thick ground planes or on populated boards, or even large areas of through-hole components (don't think I could have disassembled my friends Merc SAM Module without it, something like 200 pins in a 6x1 inch area with three grounded anchor pins on both sides). Bit strange the first time you use it, you can't exactly hold a bead of this on your iron for too long as it's mostly bismuth but what I found to be best was heating the solder joint and then adding some of this low melt to reduce melting temp of the amalgamation to around 100C. Was not at all keen on the flux, "No-Clean" flux is removed by baking boards at around 120C for an hour or 2 whereas the TF1000 (?) supplied in this kit just seems to stain the solder mask if you attempted that and so definitely needs scrubbing with ISO. Would definitely recommend but it's quite pricey so use sparingly. I would have given 5 stars if it was cheaper and didn't come with flux.
