Great seller!!!!
My sister has been searching for a yo-yo as gifts for some special people. I found this and ordered them to see if they were of good quality. They are excellent!! Beautiful workmanship, great value, balance is perfect. To top it off, being so late ordering, I expected and was told that they would not arrive until after Christmas. Imagine my surprise when I found them in my mailbox today. This seller just went to the top of my list for such type items.

Totally blew up my preconceptions of what a wooden yo-yo is like.
This yo-yo is perfectly balanced and smoothly goes into a whisper quiet sleep. It is perfectly responsive and the weight is perfect. Because it is made of wood I was totally surprised by how great it performs. I expected a wood yo-yo to be a poor performer compared to a metal axle yo-yo, but this idea has been totally disproven by this product. The only drawbacks are it came with a too-short string, and being made of wood it obviously can not endure the same stresses and abuse as a metal or plastic yo-yo.This is my new favorite yo-yo!!!

Not evenly crafted and doesn’t work properly
This yo yo was going to be perfect...I registered for it as a Christmas gift for my child. Her uncle got it for her, but it’s made where half of the yo yo is closer together and the other half is wider (where the string wraps around). See the pic. It isn’t distorted.Where it’s tighter, the string sometimes gets stuck and then the yo yo doesn’t work properly...which defeats the whole purpose. I usually love Maple Landmark products but this one was a disappointment.

Well made of wood in the USA
When sharing yoyoing with my granddaughter I wanted a nice basic one like I remembered from my childhood. She chose the one with a rainbow peace sign and I chose the compass rose. They are nicely made and have nice weight and they work very well. I far prefer these to plastic, ball bearings, and radical shapes. I am very happy with them and highly recommend them.

Awesome classic yoyo!
Nice yoyoI got it for my young nephew, not the best yoyo on the market (the hour glass shaped ones are designed that way for a reason)But great for a classic yoyo, definitely.I hope he learns some yoyo tricks in his spare time and this yoyo will do fine. But again, not recommended for young kids 6 and under since they need more wrist strength to flick it upward, I should have got him one of those automatic yoyos XDAlso the string is teen/adult sized and I don't recommend resizing it yourself to be under 3 ft, it's very much a classic style yoyo and needs to be wound tightly.Great yoyo, five stars, my notes are for people looking to purchase one for younger children, 10 and up kids are probably good to go, the learning curve is natural they'll get the hang of it. ;) And for younger kids, get the automatic or hourglass easy up yoyo's.

A Joke. But one that's not funny.
I'm a fidgety person and my two young kids took an interest in yoyos. I got this one for myself. The compass rose and wood look great. But the functional design and quality are awful. One side of the yoyo has a dowel that wedges into the other side. It's guaranteed to fling apart after a few times. I thought I was clever while muscling the two pieces together, but the dowel just snapped apart. I totalled about 5 minutes of use, most of which was spent trying to keep the darn thing together. This yoyo is specifically for display, not for play. I highly recommend any other yoyo for those expecting to actually use it.
