Ineffective against dogs, rats, mice. Partially effective against the wife.
Tested this on 2 Siberian Huskies, 1 rat, 1 mouse and 1 Taiwanese wife. Product failed to do anything on 4/5 animals. You can watch the video I uploaded for the demo.For all the husbands out there who are tired of their wives stealing the covers. Great news. The high pitched sound annoyed the wife enough to chase her out of the room. And I could only hear it when 1st turned on or turned up. Now this may have just been effective against the Taiwanese- if i had this for more time I'd test against the in-laws to help shorter their visits. So use at your own risk.Note: this product is pretty easy to find so I'd suggest hiding it in a ac vent where the wife cant find it. Extra points if you hide the ladder and screw drivers. I am NOT responsible if your wife seeks payback.Updated video:7/29/19- tested with a replacement unit in case the 1st one was defective. Basically the same results. Unit failed on mice, rats and dogs once again.

The squirrels were not impressed
There is a picture of a squirrel on the package but I tried the unit on all 5 different settings and the squirrels seemed not to notice it as they chomped the fallen seeds from my bird feeders. It may work on other small critters but did nothing for me. I have since put some of the hot pepper granules there and this seems to be working (at least for now).

When water gets inside (and it will if it rains) it will stop working
I bought this item to keep deer from eating my hostas. Since they are skittish, I thought this would be the perfect gadget. It worked exactly as described the first day...until it rained that night. The dumb thing filled up with water! Now it won’t work! What a rip! I poured it over and tried to get the water to pour out of the owls eyes but it drained pretty slowly. Once it drained I tried charging it...it’s a goner. It is most definitely NOT WATER REPELLENT (we’ll-it repels water, it just won’t works anymore)

Waste of money...
The pigeons literally forage back and forth in the grass for seeds in front of this owl at every setting. Light is flashing as they do, even tried audible setting, no bueno for no pigeons...

Save your money
I bought two for around the waterfall. My wires are still being chewed and the birds flock around like never before. I don’t think any animal has payed attention to them except humans.

It stopped working after a couple of days. I tried charging it indoors even and it still doesn’t work.
