Rio Beach Classic 5 Position Lay Flat Folding Beach Chair

If you look closely at the different color selection you will notice that there are at least two different frames for this model of chair. And depending on which frame you end up getting, it could have a big difference in your comfort level. The top portion of the frame and the part that hits the ground when fully extended is different on each. On the first version the metal at the top is molded to form the leg that comes in contact with the ground when the chair is extended lying flat. The way it is formed allows your head to rest back on the fabric without contacting any metal at all. On the second version, the leg which contacts the ground when the chair is extended lying flat is hinged to the upper back of the frame. And the place where your head rests at the top of the chair has metal going straight across which your head hits when leaning back. I noticed this when I was choosing which chair would be best for me. I was very careful to pick a color which came in the first version so my head could rest back without hitting any metal. Unfortunately, I was sent the second version. And sure enough I found it very uncomfortable to lean back on so I ended up returning it. I've now noticed that other reviewers of this chair are reporting the same issue. So, if you have a preference of one frame version over the other be aware that whatever chair you end up selecting you may not end up receiving the want you want.

This year something new has been added to "beach chairs" - a weight rating. I purchase two beach chairs, and found that they carried a 190# rating - I weigh about 230#, so I bought this chair. It was rated at 250#, so I didn't expect and issue. On the third day of use at the beach, the main legs folded over and broke. The chair was junk. I have never had a product preform this poorly, in this short of a time.I would NEVER purchase a RIO product again.

Bottom line: We bought 4 of these chairs because the picture shows a curved top rail with only fabric against your back at the top of the chair. That’s what the picture shows. The design has changed; presumably for easier shipping, but now there is a hard metal bar that hits you in the back and the “lay flat” support is another folding bar. I’m sure it’s cheaper to ship this way from China, but if everyone returns it because it doesn’t match the picture - is it really cheaper? Disappointing.

These chair are FANTASTIC. By far the best beach chair I have ever purchased. Bought 2 of them. My husband and I recently took a trip to the beach and realized we had no chairs. We are set now for the next trip. They open up easily, have a variety of positions and have a great carrying strap. The colors are great. I want to go to the beach, NOW!

This is my 3rd Rio Beach Chair purchase from Amazon. I keep one on my deck and one in my car. We go to a lot of different pools in the summer and seating is always limited, so this beach chair is perfect. I use it even when there’s open loungers because I like it so much. It’s light weight with an adjustable shoulder strap, so I have free hands for beach bag, water jug, and floats. Love the ease of adjusting positions and it also lays flat. I’m almost 50, 5 feet tall, and can get up from the chair fairly easily, but if you have any mobility issues or can’t get up from low position, get the regular height chair. The price with free shipping is a plus as well. This particular chair came with a mesh cup holder and that is handy.

Brought this because it had 5 positions. Took it to the beach, sat down and put it in the first position, the arm fell off. I fell sideways and hurt my shoulder. Don’t waste your money. It didn’t even last for five minutes and I had to return it.

Should have listened to other reviewers. This does not look like the photos at all and is not comfortable. There is a hard bar behind your head. There are no backpack straps. The cup holder is a zipper and hardly holds a can. Not worth the money, returning.

I feel the metal parts of the chair are a lower qualitythan was on the last chair I have like this one; and the fabric is lower quality as well.I don't expect it will last more than a season or two. Water collects in the tubes and you will have toturn it upside down and drain it or it will deteriorate even sooner. I would have returned it but the box it came ingot wet and UPS said I'd have to buy another box to return it. Also, I checked 2day delivery on this chair thinking it wassame how Prime and no extra charge. I didn't find out until later that they charged me over 40 dollars for delivery....My hundred dollar chair. Very disappointed.I'll be much more careful ordering on amazon in the future.

Los materiales y fabricación estan muy bien, habra que ver cuanto duran. Mi única inconformidad es que no tienen formas muy prácticas para poder se transportadas en carro, adicional a que por un poco más de dinero puedes comprar sillas hasta con mesita lateral en Costco por ejemplo, pero esta es mi estilo y me agradó. La calidad es buena, si te gusta, cómpralo.

Belle chaise avec degré d’ajustation au dossier et couleur rafraîchissante !! Mais le transport a brisé un bras et le retour gratuit avec Amazon c’est bien déroulé. J’ai décidé de pas en reprendre une car je la trouvais un peu plus grosse que mes attentes.

Chairs are comfortable ,altough a little to low 8 inches compared to my older beach 12 inches .Another thing is the price price on thease have skyrocketed in the last few years

The chair is amazingly comfortable but one of the wooden arms has a lot of unfinished wood and it’s quite sharp on my hands and arms. I would expect this from a product of $20 and under, but not from what I paid.
