Prime-Line U 9842 Clear Lucite, Glass Surface Patio Door Lock, Self Adhesive (2 Pack)

I love this! I'm going through construction on my house and its older so the sliding glass door latches and locks don't work. So essentially literally anyone could just slide the door open. I bought this to at least act as a buffer until the construction is over and its perfect! I have it so the door cant open more than an inch when its in use and it is super stuck to the door. I have even forgotten it was there and accidentally went to slide the door open with some force and it stopped the door right in its tracks and didn't budge or break. Very durable and very easy to use. Perfect for keeping people out or keeping little ones in.

I bought this to protect my three grandsons, ages 5yrs, 3 yrs, and 18mo. They just moved into a third floor apartment with a sliding glass door to a balcony. And, of course, they always wanted to go outside and play on the balcony. This little gadget was the perfect solution to keeping them from opening the door and heading outside without supervision. It took seconds to install, no tools required. Initially, I was concerned that the adhesive might not hold in the Arizona summer heat. But it has been over a month since I installed it, every day in the triple digits, and it is holding tight. The kids can't reach it, and it is easy for the adults to install and use. Great product!

These are my favorite locks for slider doors.

We purchased a used travel trailer with sliding mirrored closet doors. One of the door latches was broken, allowing the door to slide back and forth during travel time. I found recommendations on-line to try this product. It is almost unnoticeable placed at the bottom of the door and works great. Very easy to apply and allows the doors to slide freely when unlocked. Plus, there is are two in a pack for those that want to apply two for extra security. The price from this seller was great, qualified for free shipping and arrived quickly. The only thing I would change about the lock is the little black plastic lock release, I wish it was metal, I think it would be more durable, but I haven't heard that it is a problem for anyone in my research. I would definitely buy this product and from this seller!!

The spring loaded mechanism broke within the first five uses. The tiny spring loaded peg is made out of an very thin plastic (smaller than the size of a needle). It should have been made out of some sort of metal. The adhesive strip did not stick very well. The directions say that the adhesive will reach its 90% bond in 72 hours... I hope so because so far it is a piece of garbage. As the title reads, it is a good idea but cheaply made. UPDATE: I installed the second lock at my parents house. The tiny spring loaded peg broker again. Also, the adhesive strip did not work as well either. It has stayed on the sliding door at my home now that it has been over 72 hours, but I did not test it by opening the door and hitting the lock. I think it might hold to my toddler's strength, but I wouldn't use it as a anti theft mechanism. Also, something to keep in mind, this time, when the door slid open, it would hit the lock which made it 100% useless on this door. So know that if the gap between the sliding door and the fixed door is very small it will not work for you. I hate to give bad reviews, but unfortunately this product deserves it. UPDATE#2: After having the only one of two locks for a very short time (no more than a month), it has come off when my wife tried to open the door and accidentally left it locked. She didn't use much force and it didn't hold, so I can say that this product is a complete failure.

Works great easy to install

I've been trying for months to fix the latch to our slide out. The mirrored sliding doors kept sliding every time it the RV was in motion. I ordered 3 different items and returned them. Then I saw this for $3+, so simple a product, so easy to attach and it works. It keeps the sliding mirrored doors from sliding while our RV is in motion. A bonus, 2 in a pack.

First of all, the product is a TWO PACK. Amazon has it INCORRECTLY listed as "Item Package Quantity: 1" when it actually contains 2 of the adhesive locks which affix to the glass surface of the sliding door thereby preventing children from opening the door - as long as they where placed high enough to remain out of reach of a child. I noted some reviews which said the purchaser considered it a theft-deterrent. However, older sliding-glass patio doors often merely lift up-and-out of the groove - even from the outside. Hence, this hinge-style lock product won't serve as an anti-theft device on older door models. My only complaint is the plastic spring-loaded pull-string that is intended to be pulled on, prior to attempting to disengage the lock. It's often overlooked and, as a result, the plastic pull-string is easily bent and forever rendered useless. This damage results in the lock opening and closing with minimal effort. While the lock still performs as intended, preventing the sliding doors from being opened by a child, the pull-string should be a metal material that resists bending, so that the user cannot disengage the lock without first pulling the mechanism.
