EZ-FLO Snap and Press Stopper with Rubber Seal, 5/16 Inch Thread, Chrome Plated, 35251

This stopper came with our new home in 1982 and then again in our other new home in 2003 -- we just can't get away from them. At first, they work great, but with daily use (if you are a tub bather and not a showerer), this plug can get on your nerves. It will pop up and start draining if you don't have it in just right, but if you did put it in and turn it just right, it will stay tight and not drain for hours and hours. You put the threads in the drain where there is a connector to screw it in, and then you push down and turn it at the same time. If it is in correctly, all you have to do is step on the plug and it will drain, and then push it down again and lock it in place for the next bath. They come in a lot of new homes and I am happy to have found replacements at Amazon and this company. I tried at Lowe's and Home Depot, but they don't have the exact match and the matched ones seem to work much better.

It looks like a well made product but the website description says it has a 5/16" thread, but it is actually a 1/4" thread. Don't buy it if you need 5/16. Amazon gave me a refund and didn't require me to send the item back.

Replacement for a twenty year old original, seems well made so I have hopes of another twenty years service.

The tolernace on the thread is too big, at 5/16 should be 0.313" and the actual unit measures 0.295" , it barely fits the treat and it is very easy to pop out. I had to pay $6.95 for return shipping on a $3.26 unit??

It came close but it did not fit the bathtub drain. We now have a stopper that is totally useless
