Good tool
Works great! Appreciate that it holds the socket on nice and tight. Need a welding rod to put a socket on or off. Tightens bolts nicely, can put some ass on it, it's fine. Need to get a holder for it though, falls out of ur scabber easily, or just keep it in with ur bolt bucket. Made in the USA! Mike 401

Heavy and Made in USA
To be fair, I haven't used it much but this feels solid. I wanted a heavy duty ratchet Made in the USA. I use it more for automotive purposes with a small cheater bar. It;s a little difficult getting sockets on and off quickly, but as other reviews have said, this is great for construction type uses. Have done a few brake jobs with stubborn bolts and it worked well.

Very sturdy.
Just what I needed it’s rather big but it does the job.

Good as it gets
Awesome spud ratchet. The ball detent is extremely tight. Needed to push it down with a nail to get socket on. But I prefer that because when you are up in the air I know my socket won’t fall off.I was debating on the Proto and the Klein but all the Klein reviews said the detent was weak. Plus if the Proto ratchet ever breaks they sell a rebuild kit.

The best out there
If you want a 1/2" ratchet spud that is USA made, lifetime warranty that will last forever then Proto is where its at weather you are an iron worker or bridge guy like me. A lot of guys like Klein and I use to as well until their manufacturing moved to China. I was a marine and like to keep as much of my business as i can here at home in America as I can which as we know its impossible to do with everything we buy or use everyday but i feel if you can help it then help yourself. Proto always has been American made and always has been known as one of the best tool manufacturers right up there with SK and MAC tools.

Not worth the money
You have to slam the the ratchet into the socket to but sockets on. And ratchet came with no grease in head and feels cheap

Great spud ratchet.
You can just tell it's super heavy duty. Not good for places with limited space. I'm assuming the heavy duty teeth on the ratchet means you need a larger degree to get the "click" to keep tightening. Great tool

Works great!
It is far better than my previous Klein which broke and has no warranty or access to a repair kit.

Good qulatiy tool
Is great for Iron working, the only down side I had was no way to lock the socket onto the ratchet, when working at heights you do not want any thing to drop. I ended up welding the socket to the ratchet its now a perma 3/4 drive.its to small to wrench down a 1" or 1 1/4 imo but perfect for a 3/4 bolt

Good ratchet, don't extend the handle.
Working on tight (read: impossible to torque with impacts) structural steel connections, chose this ratchet as it fit in the space between the flanges of a column and the web of the beam getting bolted to it. Needed a little extra leverage to bring the connection past snug so I threw a snipe on the end of it and subsequently snapped the 1/2" drive. The ratchet had served me faithfully up to that point, but I guess it begs the question of what reasonable use of a tool meant for structural steel erection really means. Part of me knows it is unreasonable to overload a tool this way, part of me understands the rigours of ironworking and expected better from this ratchet.
