Works well
I tiled the backsplash in my kitchen. I was very happy with the way the tile cutter worked.I was unwilling to spring for an electric saw but this did the trick. It made nice, even cuts. It was somewhat of a challenge for me as I had to make 2 or 3 passes over the tile. It was not the fault of the tool, I am just unable to press hard enough the first time. I am 72 and if I can do it, it should be easy for anyone else.

Worked great with glass subway toles
Doing glass tiles for the kitchen backsplash. This cutter worked great and was easy to be good with.

Work well on my porcelain tile
Worked well on my porcelain tile application for the shower. But noticed a little wiggle in the plastic sides after done. But for the price worked very well on this one application.

Fantastic - better than a wet saw
I'm an amateur. I was able to cut way nicer with this than with a wet saw. Don't press too hard while scoring and your cut will be sharp and the glazing will not be damaged.

Good for small jobs
I bought this to complete a kitchen subway tile backsplash. I used the scoring wheel a lot. I did have trouble breaking the tiles longways with this tool and eventually quit trying. It would break in the wrong place every time. I had no problems breaking them in the short direction. As others have said, it does cut a little crooked and it can probably be tweaked to correct that issue, but I just used a belt sander to true up the tiles. The breaks are rough and need to be sanded anyway. The screw did come out of the scouring wheel on me and the wheel fell outThis is just something that you'll have to keep an eye on because if the screw is tightened to the point that it won't come out, the wheel won't spin. If you have a small job with mostly straight cuts, I would recommend this tool. If you have lots of difficult angles or cuts to make, go with a tile saw.

Who would have thunk it?!
After having our kitchen cabinets installed we search around for a good tile guy that could do a decent job with the small glass mosaic tile. Everyone we talked to said that 'their guy' chipped the edges of the cut pieces... and with the tiles that are painted on the back.. this shows up horribly.I thought to try it myself but not having done it before I was concerned about also chipping the tiles. I was going to purchase a wet saw but when I saw this thing for 30 bucks... well, it made it worth a try. What I found to be true is that when I went to cut the tiles with the chamfered backs, they cut fine as long as I cut pretty much down the middle. But when I tried to cut a 1/4" off of those... the cuts were not very straight. So what I ended up doing was using only the flat pieces of the glass tile for any detail cutting around the outlets and such. This worked very well!It is difficult to tell in the photos but these tiles were only about 1 1/2" square... and this product cut the (flat) pieces brilliantly. Just be careful of the tiny slivers and shards of glass from cutting. I placed a old towel on the counter and cut on top of that... and when finished, threw the towel away.

Some materials cuts great - others- save your money!
Read the instructions, watched the video, read the comments of those who had struggled to finially be successful. I've determined the success depends on the type of tile. Ceramic, porcelain, thickness of the glaze. The first 12x24 tile - took a couple of attempts. Third try - got a straight cut. Was adding shelving to outdoor metal gardening shelves. Had leftover tiles I needed to trim to fit.The second 12x24 tile I could not even cut - no matter how hard I tried to "bounce" on the lever. The first one (actually the 3rd cut) felt so easy - I'm thinking - I've really got this. No matter how many attempts at "scoring" the tile would allow me to snap the tile. Then on to my first 6" x 36" tile. It cut like butter. I cut several 1.5" strips easily. Finially cutting a piece 25" long. It had a thin finish on top. I selected a second 6" x 32" tile - different material - and again - unable to "snap" the tile.Same technique- scoring from outer edge to "measuring side". Allowing the metal "snapping" bar to rest half on the edge of the tile and the other half to hang over the black bar. NOTHING! Then trying with the bar totally on the tile. NOTHING! I'm afraid the material will snap or bend - I'm applying so much pressure.I've done plenty of glass cutting for hobby work. There is an art to cutting. It should not be a struggle. This is definately a struggle with NO RESULT.I feel that this works fine with porcelain tile - but not with ceramic tile. And probably works with glass tile.I'm going to take my few pieces I need cut to Home Depot and have them cut them for me using a wet saw. And return this item!

Well made and easy to use
This is a well designed, solid, and highly functional tile cutter. I’ve done three or four very small tiling projects over the last 30 years, but haven’t used one of these tools for probably 10 years. For me, it was like riding a bicycle, and it took me no time at all to make my first two successful cuts. I didn’t even read the instructions. I highly recommend this tool. Newbies will want to read instructions and/or watch a youtube video, then practice on several tiles — as I did many many years ago to get the hang of it. This tile cutter is worth the money, even if you just have two or three cuts to fix a couple broken tiles. It would cost a lot more to get an expert at your house.

Works well
Works well once you figure it out how to snap . Follow the instructions and should be good . I found the bar placement. Should be at the end of tile within a 1/8 inch of the edge then a quick and force full push down on handle and get perfect breaks . Helper was a little nervous and did not get good breaks if hesitate won't work .

Works as Intended; Suitable for Limited Use
The unit works fairly well, but offers no method to adjust or fine tune the angle of the cut, and at least in the unit I received, the cutting blade path was not close enough to perpendicular with the very short fence to make it easy to use. Every tile had to be realigned slightly in order to get accurate square cuts. The base also flexes when cutting 5/16" tile, so this is not really the cutting tool to buy if you have more than a single tiling project to complete. Home handyman level performance at best. Otherwise, it did the job and for a pretty low price.

Great tool
I'm very impressed with the quality of this cutter for this price. To be honest I was not expecting too much when I ordered it but was pleasantly surprised. I used it to tile a kitchen backsplash/wall of about 40 sq feet of white subway tile and it preformed flawlessly . Straight smooth cuts, smooth breaks. The carbide wheel was still working well after dozens of cuts. I'm not saying this is a commercial quality tool, but for a home owner doing small jobs I highly recommend it.

Good News and Bad News
We were installing 2x4 ceramic backsplash in a kitchen. Most cuts were across the tile. The machine scored and broke the tile easily. Later we needed to split the tile lengthwise which required stronger and repeated scoring. Even after that many of the tiles cracked wrong and were garbage. The problem is that the extra pressure and length to score the tile has bent the machine base so you can no longer get an even score depth. The diamond cutter wheel runs on the 2 round bars while the tiles sit on a bent base plate. Strengthening of the base plate can resolve this fault.
