Thouroughly engrossing
I couldnt put it down. The young main character comes to a shockingly mature adult grasp of the situation while trapped in the physique of a typical child unable to defend himself. He is fleshed out and this readers emotional attachment to his welfare was gripping. A question came to mind as I was reading. How it is possible for a child to be so incredibly bright, able to render his universe into a comprehensible understanding and at the same time be unequipped to extricate on his own behalf. It was for the outcome of that dilemma that I finished in one sitting; willing to suspend my belief in stereotypes and to care enough for an idealized child who survives using his mind as no other. The author provides the compelling reasons.

In God we trust?
This is a story of physical and mental abuse in the name of our alleged Savior, Jesus Christ. Although there is nothing extraordinal about it-the whole history of Christianity could be summarized as such-the history of the abused is quite extraordinal. It tell us that one could be broken in body but win in spirit. This is not easy reading , but one with the strong stomach will enjoy the great plot , brilliant characterization and the writing of a mature author, in spite that this book is his first. I'd recommend this book wholeheartedly.
