Jewelry Design: The Artisan's Reference

Excellent Eye Candy!
Great book for inspiration, or just as eye candy! The photos are gorgeous and plentiful, and divided into sections--quite sensibly--according to jewelry type. It should be remembered, however, that this is very much a reference book, and not an instructional or "how-to" manual.

Ms. Olver is wonderful.
I love how this book is organized and the photography is beautiful. It's an excellent resource for any bench jeweler.

Great reference book
Wonderful book. I thought it well written and laid out. It talks about what to take into consideration when planning a piece and using certain techniques. Just what I wanted. HOWEVER! I ordered this book and one called " the jeweller's directory of shape and form" by the same author thinking that books with different titles would be different. NOT SO! Apparently in England there is a tendency to re-release the same book under a different title. The only difference being that one is hard cover and one soft.Buy the book, but buy only one!

A timeless reference for jewelry design
The book is still very much a great reference for jewelry design 22 years after it was published. It is to the point, well illustrated with a minimum of irrelevant verbage.

Book review
Not a good book. Might be ok for kids. Fancy cover is the best nod

Good reference book.
I also purchased the other Oliver book "Directory of Form and Shape" but only one is necessary as several of the same photos, projects and information are contained in both books. No fault of the seller, live and learn.
