dark rich coffee it is not, but it is an admirable alternative.
It was surprisingly easy to swap out my morning cup of strong, fresh brewed coffee for this semi watery instant blend. Hot or cold, I like my coffee strong, black, and unsweetened; whether it be from fresh ground beans brewed in a pot, a cup made from the Keurig machine, or a tantalizingly thick and strong liquid made using the Turkish coffee method, and occasionally the double cold brew method for iced coffee on extra hot days. Oh geez, just writing that makes me want to get grinding. Alright, so, good coffee is a joy. So then, why would I look for an alternative? Well, I was ruminating about how drinking it day in and day out has lost much of its potency for me. Whether it was one cup or several, it was all the same. So then it became simply about the taste and MINDLESS routine/ritual. Could I possibly drink something else to get me through the day, then on more mindful occasions, truly enjoy all the taste and effects of coffee--such as that beautiful rush of energy that seems to have subsided? Without much effort or willpower, I decreased daily intake and found myself fine with one cup of coffee per day, occasionally more when it was just there. That has been a fair way to go, but I became increasingly more curious about coffee alternatives. I also drink tea, but that is not an "alternative" to me, nor pop/soda, nor straight carob powder. A true adaptive alternative needs to be close to the item or behavior one is looking to replace. Therefore I began looking online for something "coffee-like". I decided on DandyBlend because the ingredients sounded promising in terms of taste and health. No particular event prompted me to make a switch, it was more like a variety of things. While there appears to be benefit to daily consumption of coffee, there seems to be more benefit to not drinking it every day. Are my adrenals being over taxed? Can my mildly elevated blood pressure benefit from reducing/eliminating caffeine? Perhaps I can find more natural energy and better sleep with eliminating coffee? *If* I were to get pregnant/breastfeed, wouldn't I have to give up coffee *gasp* (and a host of other things) for quite some time? Hence my purchase of 2 lbs for $28 (for you K-cup drinkers, the coffee price per pound is $25-$60!). The granules very much remind me of "instant coffee". Actually, it smells like it, and somewhat tastes like it, too, which is not necessarily a bad thing. My taste buds think I am drinking coffee, or something so close to it, that I am not craving coffee beans. I am also liking the expedited means of getting this beverage prepared as it dissolves easily in hot or cold water. Scoop out weeks worth or so out of the bag and into a glass container. Store the remainder in a cool spot or the refrigerator to maintain freshness and eliminate clumping. Let me tell you how I feel: The first day, I decided not to have any coffee at all, just DandyBlend. I felt alright. The second day I had a bit of a headache and felt fatigued. I decided to add a splash (1/8c) of coffee to my DandyBlend to help alleviate any withdrawal symptoms. This is a good way to go- reduce systematically which will benefit physiologically and psychologically. I did the same the next, then just didn't bother after that. The transition was quick for me. It has been a week. I have felt fine, much in the same way as I did with drinking the coffee, yet the energy source seems more natural than contrived, if that helps. For preparation, I use hot or cold water, then I add a teaspoon (sometimes even tablespoon) of unsulphered blackstrap molasses (good health benefits and adds to the "coffee" taste). Since I have been making a large cup of iced DandyBlend, I seem to use a lot of the powder. I treat this like "coffee" and don't drink it past noon, however, that is a personal choice, and I doubt it would hinder good sleep later. Adjust according to your taste. For what it is worth, and mind you, it has only been a week, and I engage in other healthful behaviors, my blood pressure has been stable (and healthy) for day time readings. Night time is another story, but I really need to not take a reading during or just after a PvP warzone match in an online MMO-RPG that I play, ha! (You gamers will know what I mean)

The Earthy Elixir Your Coffee Addiction Doesn’t Want You to Know About
Listen, I love coffee. Love it like a poet loves a typewriter, like a vinyl collector loves the warm crackle of a first press. But my body? Not so much. Turns out my nervous system doesn’t appreciate being treated like a hummingbird on a double-shot espresso bender. Enter Dandy Blend, the magical potion that made me rethink everything I thought I knew about caffeine, balance, and the pure joy of a warm mug between my hands. First off, let’s talk flavor—because that’s what I was skeptical about. I expected something that tasted like regret and disappointment, but instead, Dandy Blend delivers this rich, smooth, roasted goodness that could easily pass for a nutty, mellow coffee (especially with a splash of oat milk, because, Portland). There’s no bitterness, no acidity, no post-caffeine crash that makes you question your life choices. Just pure, velvety bliss. And versatility? This stuff dissolves instantly like some kind of wizardry. Hot or cold, it blends into perfection. You want a light, tea-like experience? Just use a little. You want a robust, espresso-adjacent drink? Pile it on. Feeling fancy? Froth it up with some cinnamon and maple syrup, and boom—you’ve basically got a forest-witch-approved latte. I’ll admit, I still go halfsies sometimes—mixing it with coffee when I want the flavor but need to trick my body into thinking I’m being responsible. And you know what? It works. It blends so seamlessly that even my coffee-snob friends didn’t notice when I swapped half their beans for roasted dandelion root. (Sorry, Jeremy. You were decaf for a week. You seemed happier.) Plus, it’s good for you in that mystical, ancient-herbalist kind of way. Dandelion root and chicory have been healing people since before oat milk was cool, and somehow, they managed to pack trace minerals and gut-loving goodness into a drink that tastes like a hug. The only downside? If you leave the bag open, it clumps up faster than a drum circle at a folk festival. But hey, that’s on me. A small price to pay for liberation from caffeine tyranny. Final verdict: If you’re looking for a warm, roasted, jitter-free alternative that lets you live your best Pacific Northwest, self-sustaining, slightly-smug-but-in-a-good-way life—Dandy Blend is the way to go. Your adrenals will thank you. Your stomach will thank you. And honestly, your barista might resent you for spending less money at their shop, but that’s okay. They’ll survive. Drink the dandelions, my friend.

Surprisingly delicious
Really enjoy this product. I have been doing some detox’s and wanted to help support my liver through that so I was looking at dandelion teas when I found this in a review that somebody else had mentioned being good and tasting similar to coffee. I am not a huge tea drinker, but I love coffee so decided that I would try this product instead of the tea. This dandy blend is very good. It is rich and it taste similar to coffee without any acidity. My husband recently has been trying to quit coffee and is supplementing with this product. He really enjoys it and has had no problems with wanting coffee because he has this to rely on. We love that there’s no caffeine and we are supporting our body and using this product. Perfect for the evenings when you just wanna relax and not get any jitters. I would recommend this product to anyone.

A Perfect Coffee Replacement
I could not ask for a better dandelion tea/coffee blend. I replaced coffee with this nearly three weeks ago, and honestly—I don’t miss coffee at all. The flavor is rich and satisfying, and the texture makes it feel like a true coffee experience. One teaspoon gives a lighter, tea-like taste, while two teaspoons create a bold, coffee-like cup. Sometimes I mix in a little mushroom coffee or sprinkle in some cinnamon, but on its own, this is high-quality and delicious. I also love how simple it is to make—just add water and stir, no filters or fancy equipment required. Plus, it’s caffeine-free, gentle on the stomach, and still has that full-bodied flavor I crave. This is by far the best dandelion blend I’ve ever tried, and I can’t recommend it enough. If you’re looking for a smooth transition away from coffee, this is the one.

It's nice to have another hot beverage to drink
Dandy Blend taste has a nice flavor! It's a nice change from drinking hot coffee and tea, plus I love the dandelion health benefits. I would recommend starting with a small amount on a teaspoon and adding more to the hot water to get it to your preferred taste (I like a medium flavor). I'll be buying this again -- I like it!

Pleasant Surprise for a Long-Time Coffee Drinker
I’ve been a coffee drinker for years, but after being diagnosed with GERD/acid reflux, I needed to find something that wouldn’t make symptoms worse. I decided to try Dandy Blend, and I was honestly pleasantly surprised. Does it taste exactly like coffee? No — and I think it’s best to go into it knowing that. But it does have a warm, roasted flavor that you get used to quickly, and it’s actually very enjoyable on its own. Sometimes I mix it with a small teaspoon of Nescafé Espresso instant coffee when I’m missing that “coffee kick,” but most days I just drink this by itself. The most important part: I noticed a real difference in how my stomach felt. No burning, no discomfort, and definitely no jitters or caffeine crash. It’s smooth, easy, and feels good to drink. If you’re trying to cut back on coffee, have acid reflux, or just want a gentler alternative, I really recommend giving Dandy Blend a try. It’s become a daily staple for me and something I plan to keep using.

A Staple in my Daily Routine
I buy Dandy Blend all the time and absolutely love it. It’s become a regular part of my daily routine. I originally tried it as a coffee alternative, but I keep coming back because it tastes great, is easy to prepare, and is gentle on my stomach. I’ve noticed it helps support my digestion and leaves me feeling better overall. I also appreciate that it’s caffeine-free, so I can enjoy it any time of day. The convenient single-serve packets are perfect for home, work, or travel. Highly recommend!

Smoothly delicious!
My first thought about the bag of Dandy Blend that my friend offered to me was "Oh no, I hate instant coffee!" Then, thankfully I tasted it. I had two cups before I left! So happy to have been introduced to this very smooth, almost nutty flavored delicious beverage! It is now my favorite iced drink! No caffeine or bitterness to bother me. I LOVE DANDY BLEND 🥰🥰🥰

Dare I say, almost better than coffee?
OK. I've used this before (store bought) on doctor's orders to lay of caffeine. Who'da thunk that caffeine can exacerbate a Tachycardia and A-fib? Well, as someone who procaffeinates as a religion, having about a liter a day, (usually b4 noon) one could say I was in love with my Grind'n'Brew. Sigh...Anyway, Doc says knock off the caffeine and the nightly glass of red. OMG...Life is over!! Quit smoking in 2006, now THIS??! Dandy blend is a great tasting alternative. It's smooth and mixes up very well. It has a sweeter taste owing to the natural fructose and has a satisfying mouthfeel, for all you coffee sommeliers! A little foamy initially, so if your into lattés there ya go. Add your cream'n'sugar for a double-double and your back into normalcy. It's a little on the pricy side, but if you want a satisfying joe then this fits the bill. Yes, (glug), I do recommend this

Perfect for making a caffeine free lattè
My go to coffee-replacement since 2018! I tried Dandy Blend first on its own (as black coffee) and didn't like it much... But when I added oat creamer and brown sugar, it tasted better than the lattè I get from Starbucks!! Highly recommend trying this :)

Great coffee sub
Love this. Can have a "coffee" after lunch and not worry about it keeping me awake. Doesn't taste exactly like coffee but has a rich flavour and is an excellent substitute.
