is the blade stainless

It is Stainless steel, G10 is a added process giving it a very nice corrosion resistance, and is quite easy to sharpen, while still holding a nice, keen edge for a good long time. Many water resistant watch cases are made of this steel process. My 2 Swaggers have held up great. I have used one as EDC and it has lasted well for 3 years plus. Warning!! I have recieved cheap copies (made in China)!! About a 1/3 of Gerbers I've bought on Amazon have been clones, weird. I have a knife expert check my knives now.

Is this a genuine gerber swagger or a fake one , because i read somewhere that china puts out a lot of counterfeit copies of genuine gerber knives ?

The knife has the Gerber logo on one side and the GERBER name on the clip. Saw another answer that this is made in China for Gerber. Have been a good knife and used hard. I just keep a quick sharpener handy and touch up as needed. Only issue I've had is the blade lock was super hard to disengage until broken in. This is my daily 'beater' knife and happy with it.

What steel is the blade made from

Unfortunately there is very little information on the packaging or website to say what kind of steel was used in the blade. We do know that the handle is made from G10 with stainless steel inserts. I believe that SanRenMu used to make this knife. They are pretty knowledgeable about Chinese made knives and could probably get you the non Gerber version if it is still in production.
