Great. Just wish it were two inches shorter.
For what it was intended, It's great. For what I wanted it for, it's two inches too tall. I may yet order another one and just leave the wheels off. Speaking of wheels, they work good and smooth. Already, I have found another use for it which makes it well worth the cost. The assembly was simple. However, I would have made two changes in the instructions. The wheels should be the last step as they got in my way of my wrench. Perhaps, the lock washers could have been enhanced. Me, yep I noticed them after I assembled it, all four of them. My fault. Still I do like to complain. All parts were there, including the ones I neglected to use at first. I see no reason it won't last a hundred years unless for some stupid reason I jump up and down on it, then maybe twenty-five. It does also beg for many uses far beyond its design. One other thing. It is nice and stable. It is not likely to tip.

Surprisingly solid!
Easy to assemble. Well written and illustrated instructions. Excellent quality, especially for the (very reasonable) price.

Not just for medical use. This table is multifunctional!
I have been a caretaker for both of my parents and used overbed tables regularly with them. Some were downright pains to use so I knew I wanted something simple, sturdy, and easy to operate when I became ill a while ago and needed one. I tried to make do with TV trays but it became obvious that I needed something that I could use while sitting up in bed or even on the couch. A cursory search showed several similar tables and I chose this one because the price was very fair and the reviews were overwhelmingly positive. This table is sturdy yet lightweight and not cumbersome. It took my husband all of 10 minutes to set it up, attaching the metal frame to the table top. I could have done it myself and I am awful at that stuff. The overbed table has a dark woodgrain surface that measures 15" wide by 30" long and is .75" thick. The table has rounded corners for safety which the one I recently used in the hospital did NOT and those edges can be a little bit sharp so I suggest always looking for a table with rounded edges. The table has four castors which swivel and roll easily under a bed, chair or even under some sofas depending on whether there is open space at the bottom. Mine has open space so I can slide this table right under my sofa and use it as a laptop table or eating tray. I can also use the table while sitting in a chair or sitting up on the couch with the tabletop in front of me and my legs on the floor as it is an open design. The castors also lock down so that the table doesn't roll although I rarely need to lock them as the table stays put for me when I use it. There are LOT of ways to use this, not just for in bed patient care. I am actually typing this review with my laptop on the overbed table as I sit up on the couch. The tabletop height is 27.5" at its lowest point and will go all the way up to 39.5". With a slight push of a lever on the side, the table will rise and lower with no set increments meaning you can adjust it to the exact height you want it. It locks securely and I have not ever had the table lower or move once I had it in place. When choosing an overbed table, it's important to get one that both the patient and a caretaker can use with ease. I don't need a caretaker at this time (and I hope I won't for a very long time) but, if I did, it would be a breeze for someone to roll the table across the bed and roll it away as well as adjust the height. As the "patient" I find it very simple to adjust and move myself. The sturdy tabletop can hold a lot - up to 25 pounds according to the manufacturer - but I believe it could hold more although I don't have a need for that. I will often use the table to hold my dinner and a drink, my laptop, or a variety of other things that I want close to me. When I don't want the table in front of me, I simply push it away and it rolls easily even on a carpeted surface. When I recover, I will still use this table as a laptop tray. It's much better than a portable laptop tray and has plenty of room for any size laptop as well as a drink, portable speakers, reference materials, or anything I want close by when working on my notebook. My husband is a welder and I can't tell you the number of times he has called anything I bought that was metal, "junk". He looks at the welding beads to see if the item was carefully welded. Guess what? He didn't call this table structure junk! Shocker. He said it looked well made and the beading was not sloppy or even noticeable. Most people would never even think about this but welders tend to be very scrutinizing. What this says to me is that the workmanship is good and care was taken to make the table and I certainly appreciate that. The brushed metal is attractive and the deep color of the wood keeps staining to a bare minimum. I honestly have no complaints. This table does what it is supposed to do and doesn't take up massive amounts of space. It's great for people who are ill or injured and can't get up and sit at a table to eat or otherwise need to have things in front of them or nearby. It's also a great laptop or reading table for anyone's bedroom or living room. In the interest of full disclosure, I received this overbed table free of charge from the company after I chose it on my own. The opinions and descriptions above are entirely mine. I have been reviewing products for 16 years and always call it like I see it regardless of how a product was obtained. For $60.00, I feel this table is a steal. I can't really think of anything more I could want. It's smooth as far as rolling and adjusting the tabletop height, it has plenty of space for whatever one may want to use it for, and it's well made. I like that I'm not locked into certain levels and that I can raise and lower the table to any height I want and it will lock and stay put. I will still get a LOT of use out of this after I recover which I hope will be soon. If you're a caretaker or the patient or even if you're looking for something to use while in bed or in a chair for your laptop or reading, this overbed table does it all. I honestly recommend it to anyone. It has so many uses outside of medical use.

High Quality Hospital Grade Table.
Very happy with the quality of this table. Got this for home to use while recovering from surgery and it will come in handy afterwards as well. The weight and stability give the product a hospital quality. Very impressed with the table surface finish and feel. The table surface is very easy to clean. The lower bar in the stand between the wheels is offset so you can bring it in close to a chair and eat from, although I wish the height was about 6 inches lower when sitting in a recliner or sofa furniture. But, given the height of hospital beds you can bring into the house, I view this as minor since it maintains it's stability when the table is extended to the maximum height. The table's lift mechanism is smooth with nice latch points to confirm the table is locked in place. After assembling, I extended the table to the max position and wiped the grease off the lift post. The instructions are very well done and easy to read and follow. Minimal parts to put together allowed me to have this together in minutes. Please do read the instructions as there is a screw that has to be replaced on the lifting post in Step 5. A longer screw is used for shipping to prevent the lift mechanism from operating. Once you replace that screw with the included shorter one, the lift operates smoothly. The table is labeled with a serial number and revision plus date of manufacture. Anyone working in a strict product quality environment will recognize this as a way to track product, revisions, and allow for recalling the product due to any potential defects. So, why did I take off one start from the rating? Given the quality of this product I debated whether to take off one star, but they really could use a matching plug on the bar under the table above the lift mechanism. They put one in on the end toward the middle of the table surface, but left it out on the outside end and I found the metal to be rough. In addition, I found this would be an area subject to germs since the lift mechanism is right there close to where hands would go to operate it. The other reason is the casters are cheap plastic ones taking away from the otherwise high quality of the product. Would be nice if they opted for a higher grade caster that felt like it would last as long as the rest of the table. Having said that, the casters allowed the table to move easily across both hardwood floors and carpet surfaces. This will prevent the table from toppling over whenever you do have to move it out of the way. Would I buy it again? Absolutely. Would I recommend it to others? Absolutely. Having ordered a different manufacturers table over a year ago and seeing the difficulties and lack of quality, I was highly impressed with the Vaunn table sitting itself apart from the competition.

Perfectly met my needs for an in-bed desk! Love it!
This is not a particularly beautiful table/desk, but it has so perfectly met my needs that I can't help but rate it 5 enthusiastic stars. I got this table to serve as the desk to my laptop. When I went from desktop computer to laptop, I found I was sitting in bed a lot with it rather than at my desk. Doing this meant I didn't need a big desk somewhere, and so I set about finding how to get comfy computing from bed. I had tried a few things, from a cooling mat, to a folding lap desk to a cheapish plastic lap desk with a beanbag bottom (the latter of which I still use for other things, like my mouse, tablet, etc.) but I was having trouble making this 1. Comfortable 2. Accommodating to my large and powerful laptop while in use and having it also be easy to put someplace else out of the way 3. Affordable 4. Not heinously ugly. After going through the formerly mentioned small lapdesks, finding them too small, rickity, unwieldy and annoying to find a home for them when not in use on my bed I thought of these medical bed tables. It seemed like the perfect fit to give me a small, functional, mobile desk for my laptop AND a drink/snack, so I set about looking at reviews, checking prices, etc. This table was the cheapest while maintaining a high level of satisfaction among it's owners, a low reported incidence of manufacturing defects and unlike some other similar tables - this one was reported as being EASY to put together rather than annoying, confusing, convoluted, etc. I decided to try it. I am SO glad that I did and here is why: 1. Okay, top of the list, at $59.99 this table is one of the cheapest units you will find that also doesn't have a lot of bad reviews proclaiming it to be a piece of junk. If the table is decent, does what you need and costs $60 instead of $100-$300 then... ding! ding! ding! We have a winner. Well, as I will go on to explain: We have a winner! 2. This was easy as pie to install. There is a small guide. It's pretty straight forward. Only word of caution: Don't undo the shipping screw, point the metal support at ANYTHING of value (head, dog, vase, etc.) and hit the table adjustment lever. This seems obvious, but they kinda don't mention it and I thought I would do that just so someone doesn't come back and post "You never told me I'd put my eye out!!". Well, I did. Don't put your eye out, okay? But other than that this is easy to assemble. It took me 15 minutes, or less. I needed a mid-size phillips head screwdriver to tighten the six screws that hold the support beam to the table top and and a small/mid-sized wrench to tighten the two bolts that hold the support beam to the base. I say "mid-size" because that is how not technical with tools I am. I know some tool names. I can usually put things together better than my other family members, in part due to patience, but I often ask the boyfriend to tighten it all down at the end. And I am 99% confident almost anyone can put this together in under 30 minutes. 3. It really is easy to use. It rolls well enough, even on carpet. I swing it over and away from the bed a few times a day and out at the end of the night when I go to sleep. I adjust the top to right above my legs or up to the highest notch depending on what I am doing, and it is so easy to adjust with the lever. Although I cannot one-hand lift, I know this is because my laptop weighs 8 lbs. It lifts one-handed when my laptop and other junk isn't on it, and yet it easily two-hand lifts with all my doo-dahs on the topper. To lower you simply lift the lever and press down. To lock it - up or down - just move to the desired level and lift a little until you hear the snap. If that's too high - or low - readjust and snap in place again. 4. It seems of decent quality. It's a laminate, particle board top, sure. It isn't a piece of Ethan Allen furniture, but it cost $59.99. And for that price point I have gotten bookcases with a surprise! CARDBOARD backing that during assembly, you tack on the back of the case. Now that's cheap and cheesy! On the other hand, while not fancy-pants, this is a nice little table. There are no manufacturing errors. All the pieces went together right. It rolls right. It doesn't wobble too much considering it's a desk with one leg and a hefty laptop on the other end of it. It goes up and down smoothly. It looks pretty decent given it's welded, chromed metal and laminate-topped particle board. Price to quality, I am 110% satisfied, would buy again, will recommend! :-) So bottom line, I love this little table desk. It works perfectly for me. I was excited to get it. Happy how it went together. Thrilled to start using it and I've been happy with it each and every day for the last couple weeks. If anything changes, breaks, etc. I will be sure to update the review. If things go as planned I will probably still come back to update how it's going. Until then I leave you with these thoughts: The table size is listed, but part of the topper is over the side of the base beam. This means the table doesn't go halfway across a queen size bed, for example. If you want something like that you will need to find a longer table. And probably a sturdier one to hold such weight farther out like that. Also, though the table isn't huge and doesn't span the bed, it holds a lot of stuff! Mine holds my 17.3" laptop, the laptop chilly mat it sits on, my drink, a snack, my phone and phone holder, my tablet and/or a book! I could probably scootch stuff to the other side and fit a mouse, but when I do use a mouse I actually just put that on the tiny plastic lap desk with the bean bag bottom and that works for me. I went ahead and took some photos of my desk set up to give you an idea of how much stuff fits on it, the space under it and above the bed (our bed is I think 30-32" give or take with blankets, etc. and the desk is at about 38-39" on the underside while at max) and how far across our queen that it goes while hitting the side rails. Oh, and the picture with my leg - I am not skinny at 5'5" and 150lbs with decidedly NOT chicken legs - so that is a good bit of space! I can sit cross-legged or even with my knees up when the table is at max. Of course this room will vary according to the height of your bed/couch/whatever and the size of your body but I hope this provides some reference. :-) (UPDATE 02/24/16: For some reason my pics never posted. I reposted and they still haven't shown. Not sure why as I post pics all the time, but perhaps this item has too many images attached already and we aren't privy to the threshold? Anyhow, wanted to mention this as it's a bit annoying, and makes my review inaccurate without explanation.) I love this desk! And I hope this review helped. Feel free to ask questions if you have them and best of luck to you! UPDATE 03/02/2019: Still love and use this desk absolutely everyday. It is sturdy and besides getting dusty all the time, since we live in the desert, once cleaned it looks like new. I now use this daily as my work desk because I have been working from home due to falling quite ill. This desk is a great help, and when I am not using it for work I am using it to watch movies on my laptop with my bearded dragon pet. I like the desk so well that when I began using a second monitor regularly at home - which is really a necessity if you do complex computer tasking - I decided to get a second desk to go on the other side of the bed so I can stop hulking my monitor on and off the box I have set up on the bed each day. I am excited for it to get here. I know having two will make a perfectly functional whole desk across my queen bed for work. Hope this helps and good luck!

Easy assembly, works great.
Words as it should. 2 wheels are lockable and it goes up & down in nice clicks. Also, the bottom frame member is well offset from center so it's a great TV tray as well.

Sturdy tray
The tray table is sturdy, good quality, and a good value. Easy to assemble. Be aware that there is a tiny screw that needs to replace a larger screw used during shipping on the column that allows the table to go up and down.

Good product. Very useful.
The table works very well for my son to have his meals in bed as he has to not put weight on his broken leg for 4 weeks. Also works for his computer, cell phone, etc. was not difficult to put together. Is of good value for the price. I recommend this over bed bedside table.
