4 Model B 2019 Quad Core 64 Bit WiFi Bluetooth (1GB)

I got this to set up octopi for my older 3D printer. It has worked great. I also set up PiVPN next to octopi so I can get into my local network remotely. I was worried about network speed over the VPN because where it’s at only has WIFI. It’s very fast. I can’t tell a difference when going through the VPN vs not.

I first ordered a 2gb version to play with and familiarize. I use one usb drive for external storage and loaded GIMP and a RAW image plugin and loader to play with some of my RAW image files. Very impressive for its size. I generally access this one through Windows Remote. If I need to do an install or shut it down, I use the Windows Remote to connect it to a bluetooth mini keyboard/mouse that I use for my phone. I later bought a 1gb unit to use as a NAS server running Open Media Vault. I set that up with a powered USB3 hub and run 4 external drives. This replaces my old Cirago NUS1000 that was quite slow and sometimes dropped off line. The NAS server is fully managed via browser so needs no keyboard or monitor. It is MUCH faster than my old backup server and has never missed a beat in the 3 weeks I've had it operating. I see a lot of reviews about heating, but I have not had any problems with that at all. I have both units in Flirc cases that have a heat sink to the case top. Even during heavy backups, there are no heating problems.

I absolutely love this thing. I bought it solely to run Pi Hole on my network. After setting that up, I decided to then setup a Plex server, samba server and Pi VPN server on it. All four services are working great. Yeah, it’s probably not as nice or powerful as a dedicated NAS or other server, but it works well on a home network running one movie at a time while blocking ads. Only thing I wish for is a reason to make more things with additional Pi’s

this raspberry pi does not boot - return started. also product did not come as described in product description i.e. About this item Includes Samsung 32GB SD Card Boots right into Raspbian Buster full desktop September 2019 update, no setup required! Did not get the sdcard so I am unable to test product to see if it even works.

I am using this to run some control software for Astrophotography (PHD2 and a Perl script to control dithering and camera shutter). It is absolutely fine for that purpose. I did discover, while I was setting it up, that a 1GB version is not really useful with the graphical desktop, and the Chrome browser in particular. It VERY rapidly runs out of physical memory and paging to an SD card is not a good place to be. If you want to use the desktop and browser I strongly recommend getting the 4GB version. Desktop without using the browser is quite doable.

This is a great little gadget...i have got it synced with vnc and ssh so now I can acces it anywhere on my tablet...when I first got it I had no idea what to do...but then I watched a couple of videos.. learnt the terminology and etc...now I'm a rasberry pro! Which goes to show how easy it is to learn...i totally 100% recommend it and you'll be surprised at how many things you can learn from it....!

No he probado la Pi pero el paquete llegó en 3 días mucho antes de lo programado. El precio es tan accesible que me temí que no fuera original, pero si es.
