3M Structural Adhesive, 08101, Two 2 fl oz Tubes per Kit

I used this to bond two old metal lamp parts together. I assume they were brass but they're quite tarnished now. Cleaned with alcohol and bonded with a thin line where the parts met. I can now pick the lamp up by it's finial. I didn't toss it around but I wasn't sure anything would hold the parts together at all so I'm quite pleased. I also used it, on a lark, when I broke a small (half inch by 3/4 inch) white plastic part that holds in a glass panel on our refrigerator. I've never had luck doing that in the past with any glue, but this stuff rebonded it and the part held - It had to be snapped back into place but it took the pressure without any problem. I've used JB Weld and other epoxies in the past and they've worked sometime but not others. My dad was a molecular chemist who spent a lot of time studying why things stick together. He was with DuPont for 10 years and then went into academia for another 40. He was a researcher, not a developer, but he tried lots of adhesives in his career. I think he'd be impressed, as am I. 5 stars.

This is a great product. Be aware, if you're a prime member it cannot be shipped 2 day regardless of what it says. It's considered a hazardous material and has to be shipped ground. I emailed customer service after I ordered it because noticed the longer ship date. They gave me the information about the hazardous materials having to be shipped ground. It was no big deal as we had a little left but you just can't get this easily in our area anymore. This stuff works really well on metal and especially where it may come in contact with fuel. I've used it on carburetor repairs for many years and it has always held up to the fuel. Also the description is a little deceptive as each of the two tubes is 2 fl. oz and you combine a little of each tube. In all you have 4 fl oz of this product. If you know that it makes the price a little more tolerable.

very expensive for an adhesive that in my opinion is No better than conventional epoxy

Used on a tractor to glue some broken plastic tabs on the hood together. I sandwiched the broken pieces between new plastic sheeting and glue. Seems to be holding still but looks like it may have started separating. This hood is under a lot of vibration from a diesel tractor.

I used this to reattach the rear spoiler on my Pontiac G8. It set up easily and bonded quickly. the spoiler feels more firmly attached than ever. Very good product.

THIS PRODUCT ARRIVED UNUSABLE THE SECOND TUBE WAS HARD AND I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO RETURN IT FOR CREDIT OR REPLACEMENT FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON. THIS IS AN AMAZON THING NOT A 3-M PROBLEM. I PURCHASED THIS PRODUCT FROM ANOTHER SUPPLIER AND IT WAS PERFECT.

I've tried this on a few things and have found that it benefits from a little extra time to set the adhesive set after mixing... only a couple of minutes. It mixes thicker than 2-party epoxy which allows it to hold in place better until it sets. Strength is poor as it can be peeled off of plastic as easily as packing tape. It is flexible when cured, which is great for material that bends, but its adhesion is so poor, I can't see the use for it.

I deleted the exterior mounting screws holding the closing mechanism to the lid of my Harley Davidson hard saddle bags for a cleaner look. I used this adhesive to adhere the metal closing mechanism to the inside of the fiberglass lid. I tried fiberglass resin but that failed after a short period of time. This material bonded extremely well to both surfaces and is working perfectly. Great product.
