For anyone with a Celestron NextStar 8Se SCT, have no doubts, this dovetail base fits perfect. First, the two machine screws come off the optical tube factory finder base. Secondly place the new base in position and replace the factory screws into the tube. Wala, your done. The two screws supplied with the new finder base must be for other applications. My red dot finder lined up better than ever. The horizontal range is enough to line up objects perfectly, the vertical is close enough for all practical purposes. I like having two hold downs screws V.S. one. Its feels more secure. I'm totally pleased with this finder base. Get one, you won't regret.

I bought this for my Celestron Astromaster 114EQ Newtonian Telescope! The telescope came with a Red Dot Finder, which was plastic, extremely opaque, and difficult to use. I decided I was going to buy another finderscope for it, but I needed a way to mount it to the telescope, since the Celestron Astromaster 114EQ had it's fiderscope permanently mounted. I bought a Celestron Starpointer Pro and this Dovetail Base for it and went to work.After removing the old Red Dot Finder, I drilled a couple of holes into my telescope and attached this Dovetail Base to it. This Universal Dovetail mount was a perfect fit for both my telescope and the Celestron Starpointer Pro Finderscope that I purchased for it. Now I can finally spend less time trying to find things, and spend more time actually looking at the objects in the night sky! Plus there is the added benefit that now I can change the finderscope at my own leisure, if I feel inclined to do so in the future!

This product does not fit the Celestron Nexstar Evolution series telescopes. The screws that come with it are the wrong size and the holes in the shoe itself are just a bit too narrow to fit the mount holes in the OTA tube. I searched verrry carefully for a looong time, talked to numerous people for a product that would work and finally decided on this one but nope, none of that work was enough.How hard can it be in this world to find a small accessory for a telescope? Celestron was no help, has no information on such accessories. The people at OPT couldn't tell me what worked - only suggest "possibilities." Various YouTube telescope guys couldn't tell me what to use or get. I looked and looked over numerous variations of this simple part to see if it fit my set up. No website had dimension info that was sufficient. Other websites carried the same parts with some information of how it worked with some telescopes but not my telescope which is supposedly a very popular, common brand and model.Nobody knows nothing about anything because there are so many versions of everything that constantly change or get discontinued. There are so many standards that nothing is standard and no one can keep track of what works with what. Sometimes you're lucky, often you're not. Today I'm not.Good luck finding what works for your particular project.

I mounted the “Astromania Universal Dovetail Base Finder Scope” to my Orion Giant View BT-100 Binoculars. I originally consulted Orion Telescopes to find out if could recommended a mount so as to be able to attach finder scope directly to the binoculars. Unfortunately no one at Orion had a clue for recommended mounts that would attach to this Binocular. After a bit of searching, I found this product on Amazon. I will say that this mount attached perfectly to the handle of BT-100 Giant Binocular. I also purchased the Astromania Finder Deluxe Telescope Reflec Sight which attaches perfectly to the Astromania Dovetail Base. Perfect combination of mount and sighting device to assist in pointing the Giant Binoculars to any distant target (both terrestrial or astronomical uses). I highly recommend this high quality product. See attached photos.

I purchased this shoe to mount a Orion 50mm Deluxe Guide Scope to the “carry handle” of an Explore Scientific 127ED FCD100 Carbon Fiber telescope. The shoe fit the handle perfectly. You will need slightly longer M5 screws, the screws supplied are a couple mm short.

GoTo bracket now days you need at least three per scope five scopes yeah 15 sounds about how many I got!!!! Great product works great got nothing negative to say fair price! Good product!!!

I needed this to add an Orion 9x50 Right Angle finder scope to my Celestron 6SE. The adaptor seemed to be just what I need, a trial fit with the finder scope looked perfect. Time to mount it on the scope. I get the toy finder scope off and go to add the mounting bracket, the slots will work perfectly... but the screws are too big. They're too fat to go into the screw holes on my Celestron scope. So, I try to use the screws that held the original finder scope but they have a rounded head that sticks up preventing my new finder scope from going in the bracket. I've got a mount that appears to be what I need, now I have to make a trip to the hardware store to get a couple of 5 cent screws (hopefully) so I can mount the mount. Why can't it just work???????

The versatility of this shoe is the best as it can be put on a variety of scopes. Top notch.

Lastima que no indican las limitaciones de incompatibilidad de este adaptador, con algunos instrumentos. Por ejemplo si el equipo en que lo pretendía utilizar, solamente tiene un (1) tornillo de soporte. No hubo forma de acoplar.

Installed easily on my GT81 refractor using one of the supplied screws. Good fit and quality.

I used it to install a red dot finder. It is good quality but the price is a little high in my opinion

Installed easily and mounted Celestron 51635 Star Pointer to base with no issues. Good stable base.
