Bernat Velvet is Heavenly!
A lot of reviews saying that this yarn tangles easily. My take on that is this: try using a yarn winder to wind it into a ball before using it in a project! Most yarns should never be used right from the skein or hank. They need to be wound into a ball first. That being said, I find this yarn to be absolutely wonderful to work with and have made quite beautiful things with it.Another word of caution. The type of crochet stitch really does make a big difference in the finished product. For this specific yarn, stay simple. Don’t try to use complicated patterns etc. Let the yarn be the star, not the stitch.

Not impressed
This yarn is very very soft and it was easy to work with. However, it did get tangled very often. I felt as if I was spending more time untangling the yarn than I spent actually using the yarn. I would also like to mention that the yarn likes to "slip around". While I was working on my blanket, I noticed that certain sections were becoming "loosened up" like a snag. I didn't pay any mind to it at first but then I started noticing it more and more. After I was finished, the majority of the sections in my blanket became loose. My blanket, that I am giving away as a gift, looks terrible. I would not purchase or work with this yarn again.

Unique
This Bernat yarn is unique. I've never found anything so soft. I make afghans and my family love them. Even the teens ask for them. The blankets turn out really heavy, so I can only make them in the winter. The yarn stretches, so they don't hold their shape and I often have loose stitches, but no one seems to care. I wish there was a better color selection.

Perfect for Eeyore
I searched high and low for the perfect Eeyore color. This was it. It’s super soft and I felt it was easy to work with. It could be considered “slippery” because it’s so soft. I personally loved this yarn. It made my project easy to complete and I would classify it as a wonderfully velvet yarn. I did have difficulty making my magic rings, but if you work with velvet yarn, that’s not uncommon(especially if you’re me). Still, 10/10 recommend.

LOVE the lux
The instant my fingers touched this luscious, soft yarn, I knew I'd found something exciting. After working with it for 30 minutes, I ordered more. The thickness is perfect to make a blanket up fairly quickly and yet not be too heavy (although you'll need more than one skein). Then, after working with it for a day, I doubled my second order. Yes, it's not cheap. And I still consider it a good value because of the quality. There were times when it felt like working with a good faux fur. And I had zero knots (from factory splicing or from tangling). Further, there was almost no fuzz. Also, the tensile strength was sufficient to crochet reasonably tight and even rows, with no fraying of the yarn. And the stretch in it is just perfect... Just enough to feel like a comfy hug and not so much that it felt like working with an oversized Slinky.I can't wait for the rest of my order to arrive and get my hands on more of this plush yarn.

So far, beautiful color, texture, knitting up well.
The color is beautiful & well named, rich indigo blue, but there is a lot of gradation, so no blackish tone. (Pic compares same yarn in Blackbird.) Texture is indeed velvety. Yarn is DK WEIGHT, NOT bulky. Knits up with some spring to it. Haven’t gone far enough in to see if they are knots or thin spots. Pic is on a size 10 needle. Caution - no way to avoid the huge ball that springs out no matter how carefully you remove the paper band.

Bernat Velvet for Amigurumi Artist
Bernat Velvet is my favorite yarn to make amigurumi with. The toys are so soft and lush. People go crazy for them! There is an occasional knot, but they can mostly be worked into the back part of this kind of project and there’s no need to cut it out.I’ve noticed one thing though. Since it is so soft and silky, the ends don’t stay weaved in very well. I just stuff my tails inside my dolls, but that won’t work on a blanket. Please keep that in mind!

Beautiful results not for beginners
This yarn is beautiful, soft and shiny. The only problem is that it's so shiny that is hard to see the stitches as you go. Not a beginner yarn. But if you go slow or have more than beginner skill it is beautiful results.

Really soft, and a lovely colour
This yarn is super soft - really lush and silky. You get a lot of it too; a 300g ball goes a long way. I've been using it on a circular loom to make hats and socks (pictured). They're really cosy and comfortable. The yarn slips over itself better than other chenille yarn I've tried - there's less friction, which makes it much easier to use. Apparently this yarn is also good to crochet with, so I might also give that a go.The purple colour is gorgeous and really vivid. The yarn isn't always available to buy as I think it primarily sold in America, but when I see different colours available I buy them to try out. I haven't been disappointed by Bernat Velvet yarn yet.

Beautiful and soft
This most beautiful softest wool I have ever crochet with. It is expensive but the ball crochet up very quick. I can do a baby blanket in 2 hours. Just one issue sometimes the ball is knotted together. I always cut this out because it spoils the look of product. So you do loose some length because of this. If there is a few knots you may lose more wool than Expected.

Don’t buy
Not worth the money! The ball fell out while I was crocheting and we had to rewind it. The number of knots in it was uncalled for and for the price was ridiculous. It has ruined my creation due to the number of knots.

Feels lovely, but riddled with knots.
Wool feels lovely and soft, unfortunately all 3 balls that I ordered were full of knots, many of which I couldn't undo or i have found tied ends or bald patches as I unravelled the ball to use it, so I have had to cut some sections out and re-tie the wool. Now I am faced with buying another ball to make up the short fall. I did not expect these problems from such an expensive ball of wool!I would like to lodge a complaint but I can't find the way to contact the seller.

Beautiful and beginner friendly
I decided to be ambitious and use this yarn to make my very first crochet project and it turned out so soft and beautiful...despite my rough treatment of unravelling the entire project three times because I hadn't had any prior experience of crochet and all my practice and experimenting were also done with this yarn. However, I would recommend using a 6mm instead of a 6.5mm hook and to stick with single, half double and double crochet's instead of a super complex pattern because the yarn is silky and thus slippery.
