Assassin's Creed: Desmond

"Nothing is true. Everything is permitted."
Assassin’s Creed Volume 1: Desmond is the first of six books to be published for this story. This first book, made by Titan Books, covers the first issue of the story following Desmond’s initial capture and work with his ancestor Altair as well as Aquilus of the Roman Empire. This book makes an effort to try to explain why Abstergo has Demond and what they’re doing with him but having played the game gives you a much better insight. Eric Corbeyran made a valiant attempt at staying true to the story but some of it has been changed slightly. Not enough to completely throw off the story but it’s not identical to the games. Otherwise, we get a peek at Subject 16 and Aquilus but I’m guessing we’ll see more of them in the following books. This edition is an oversized hardcover with no dustjacket. It has been translated from the original French language it was published in and the translation is perfect. You can’t even tell it was originally another language like is common with some mangas. The book is quite short at only 48 pages given the $10 price tag but it’s worth picking up if you can find it cheaper. This is the first part of the first chapter (3 issues) and there is a second chapter that is another 3 issues as well. Definitely something to get if you’re a fan of the game.

Nice Art
I have bought and read all three in this series, and I have played all the video games.I really enjoyed the artwork and the introduction of new characters. But even with all of that I still find the stories a bit hard to follow.Overall these books are a fun piece of AC lore for any fan of the games!

Excellent read, and illustration
This comic is more or less a summary of parts of the first Assassins Creed Game. The hard cover illustration is bound well and looks awesome. It's a quick but interesting read for a comic, the transition between scenes and the storytelling is good as well.

Assassin's Christmas
My son is very into the Assassin's Creed series. He plays the video games and asked for a novel for Christmas. I bought this to compliment the book he asked for and he loves it.

It is close to the comics but at the same time different, it is a very good read and I would recommend it to anyone who like Assassin's Creed!

Loving this graphic Novel! I'm a huge fan of this series, but like many graphic novels, it's short. But a really cool collectors item!

A must!
As well as the games in PS3 format, I personally collect everything in book form about Assassins Creed - Oliver Bowden novels, official strategy guides, art books and now this high quality comic book series. A true collectors piece with appealing hardback cover and glossy printed pages. I simply love them :o)

Interesting Book
The artwork is beautiful and the story quite interesting. It is a bit different to the game, but still has spoilers. However, I really enjoyed the book and eagerly bought the next one!

Great!
Fantastic peripheral story to the Assassin's Creed series. Surprisingly this graphic novel and its counterparts is more entertaining than AC4 which defiantly makes for a satisfying read.
